| Now professional sportsmen have to take the good times as well as the bad times, but the abovementioned thug takes the mickey. This is the second time in two seasons that i have watched Mr Lowes threaten and offer to fight Wakefield fans when things are not going his way. There is always going to be a bit of banter with opposition coach's but to react like that is not acceptable. I will be writing formally on monday morning to the Warrington club. No wonder he was in the stands for the second half after offering to fight half the crowd behind his dugout in the first half!

| I heard from someone who was stood round there that jimmy was getting comments like "getting sacked in the morning" or "jimmys got the monk on" then after 1st half he said some words (i were not told what these were must be the aforementioned comments) however i believe he also stuck 2 fingers up at a section of our fans, can you see any other "professional" coach doing this

| Pointed at a Wakey fan, then pointed to the exit, and then mouthed quite clearly, "I'll see you after", and repeated it. He then pointed at another fan and did the same. It was clearly an invitation for a fight, although got more laughs than fear, and only put the crowd on his back even more.
Yes, he was getting grief, but the fans were giving him grief because it was clearly winding him up. It distracted him wonderfully.

Yes that's why we carried on doing it, he popped up when they scored a try and then sat back down again.
When he was pointing I thought it was at screen as they has just scored. But when he did not come back in the 2nd half we missed him
Jimmys got the monk na na na.
Made some noise tonight and hope it can be like that every week.

| shocking he's feeling the pressure and did the right think to get away from the fans, I don't condone his actions if true but he's a lot to learn and tonight could of sealed his destiny, I watched the wires walk away after the whistle together with Morley a lonesome nearly in

| Actually thought Lowes interview with Sky was as honest an interview your ever going to hear.
Yes we did give them a major touch up tonight but I do hope the lad survives and the players, board and fans support him cos he will make a good coach, and at least one with a sense of humour.

Don't see much evidence of that personally, and a big spending, big ambition team in the top flight isn't the place where you are going to get the time to learn that.

Not for me. hot head as a player with no respect, hot head as a coach will recieve little respect from the players, he may have been a very good player but i don't think that will help him.

| Still find it unbelievable that Steve Ferres wanted us to replace Tony Smith with Lowes all those years ago? Thank God he said no and fan-power got John Kear in the frame.

| LOWES OUT
That was a pretty good banner you Warrington fans did. What a pity you couldn't devote more time to supporting your team.
Will you guys be saying that if you get to a Challenge Cup semi-final and the playoffs if Lowes is still there by then?
I think not.

| Quote ="Snat Chunter"to be honest i dont really derive a lot of pleasure from seeing the wire fans in their current predicament, it's a position we as a club are never that far away from. we could easily have ended up with lowes and gone down never to return in '06. i will never forget that kear interview on the superleague show when we were fannying around deciding whether to sign him or not. i didn't realise the enormity of it at the time but where would we be without him now? foook knows! it's not their fault their club is insistent on paying big money to certain individuals and seemingly disregarding team spirit etc. i half hope they recover, but not at the expense of us....
'"
Me neither, Wire fans are among the best supporters in RL and deserve better.
Lowes should walk IMO.

| He may be a coach and a professional person but i heard the fans last night and thought Lowes was right in the context of what was given to him. The RESPECT code of conduct works both ways and if the crowd don't want to keep within that code then why should Jimmy Lowes. The lad was a great PRO and his clearly under pressure which again makes human beings act differently so if you didn't like the reaction then don't dish out the abuse

I dont get what youre referring to here, although i never do, are you suggesting a SL coach sticking two fingers up at opposition supporters is part and parcel or just the abuse the SL coaches recieve is part and parcel.

Yes I would. I see no reason why anyone should have to accept verbal/physical abuse as part of their job. I will never understand those who dish it out but then go running to police/teacher/steward/whoever when they get a bit back.

Not sure we're talking about the same thing here. Sure, police and teachers etc should be able to respond if being abused but in a professional manner. I'm pretty sure most parents wouldn't be too impressed if their kid's teacher offered to take him/her round the back of the bike shed "to sort it out". The Respect agenda [uis[/u important but respect has to be earned and it's the professionals in the game who have to model it. RL's got a lot ot be proud of in this respect and it would be a shame if it became "ok" for players, coaches etc to jeopardise the game's reputation by responding in kind to drunken/ignorant/angry fans.

Clearly Lowes was provoked, but his reaction wasn't just wrong and lacking in dignity it was counterproductive and stupid to himself.
Had he taken on the crowd who would rightly lose there job - Lowes. What could he gain - nothing. Would JK or Mcrae react - no never, they would smile and carry on being prefessional.
Sadly if Lowes can't control his emotions then he can never be a coach. I say this not to defend his abusers but because he clearly can't possibly control a dressing room if a few twits in the crowd get the better of him.
Coaches are generally employed because they are cool, calm and collected yet strong under pressure. Lowes failed them all which gives me no pleasure as we need far more British coaches.
