What is it with Phill Clarke (Boots n All tonight) and his insistence on banging on about merger / groundshare at Cas's GH stadium?

What about Eddie am a ?anker Hemmings. all he could say is look Wakefield are the one that every body says should go.Just would not shut up about it. yes some one should tell Clarke we have never been out of super league, he thinks we have.

Hope the club saw that, and invite him and a few cameras down to visit and see all the extra work that is going on behind the scenes with the new ownership.

Not that Sky would ever show a positive Wakey piece, mind, but it would be nice to see!

True, but people's perception of a club is worth a lot, and whilst it can't be changed overnight it hardly helps to have those idiots banging on about how crap we are does it? Yes they are clueless, but strangely people do listen to them.

A friendly invitation to spend the day at Belle Vue with the players, coach, community team, chairman and owner, with the idea of bringing cameras along and saying "look at all of the good things we're doing" would be a very professional thing to do. Since we now have people in charge who are capable of having good ideas and promoting the club it would be nice to see. Too often the Sky team are just lazy - the information is there for them to use but they seem like they can't be bothered as it's easier to just bash us again and again. If they were provided with the information and one of the team actually spent the day with the club then it would be more difficult to miss.

(I see it as being a bit like the people who were dead against the Thornes Park stadium, for the sole reason that they hadn't bothered to read the plans, so had just assumed the park would be destroyed. They could have looked up the information, but to them it was "why bother?" Had they been presented with the plans by those in charge they might have realised they were wrong about a couple of issues, but obviously it's impossible to do that when there's a whole city who just can't be bothered to read)

Good call - the professional way to respond to reports like this not to moan about the injustice; rather, seize the opportunity to correct any misperceptions.

Have taped it...sorry Sky + it so can not comment. To be fair I think Clarke talks alot of sense normally, having met him at a Challenge Cup Final at Millenium and he bought aload of us he went up in my estimation !!! But he is so Wigan biased its unbelievable.

As for Hemmings he is a Widnes supporter so i rest my case !!

I stopped liking Phil Clarke when he quit his job with Great Britain because the fans weren't interested - make it interesting for them then you clown!

And at the Magic weekend he was saying that injured players were perhaps getting too much treatment and this was slowing the game down. Considering the serious injury he suffered, I actually thought his comments were quite sick. I just find him disgusting.

It was painful watching Boots n' all tonight.

The piece with Andrew Glover and James Elston came across really well. It showed the club trying its best to turn things around and move forward in a positive way. We then got the 'big raps' for the performance in France and JK saying how great the young lads were and the senior players stood up well........

but then..........

back to the studio with Eddie ' I have no idea about Rugby League 'Hemmings and Clarkie who for the first time in my memory having a pop at us to an extent !

Clarkie - how can we share with Castleford ?? They dont have a new stadium and probably never will........

We may be the bookies favourites to make way for Widnes but why keep going on about it time after time after time. Like someone said earlier - if somebody keeps saying something often enough people will start to believe them even if its wrong. A bloke in the 1930's and 1940's had a habit of doing that !!



I cannot see any reason why now our financial situation has been resolved, we have the green light to play out of a SL quality stadium next year with the very real possibility of NM being ready in 2013, the community side one of the best if not the best in SL and very strong junior set up - why we continue to be put down in the way we are. Its infuriating.............

There are at least 3 other clubs who are on a par with us regarding a new licence who must of watched that tonight and loved every minute of it. Sky is basically scoring them all an extra point with the impression and mis-guided info they keep spouting about our club !

Lets fight this all the way. We get down in numbers and support the lads week in week out. We continue this weeks fantastic work and grow stronger throughout the season both on and off the field. When July comes around with huge improvements off the field, great results on it and to back that up with an increase in attendances then we have a right to turn around to the RFL and question how on earth they can let this great club go.

We have no debts, money for new players, one season at least in an expansion area in a decent stadium (Oakwell). This, together with our junior output, British coach, community dept, history and the regime change etc. Why would they want to kick us out Phill? A few seasons in the lower divisions indeed.

Trouble is we have had the tax man banging on the door 3 times in the last 12 months, having to move out of the area to play, have been in administration and have lost a lot of money and have caused our creditors to lose a lot of money. These are the facts that other fans will link the club with and nothing else.

The fact is chaps, one club is going. 'expansion' sides are safe we all know that so forget the Cru been in admin too stuff (wrong but true). I think the RFL see Salford as 'expandion' into Manchester too.

Leaving you & Cas, can't tbh see why they would go out before you tbf. Yes you should be financially sound now but can't prove that until a years books are in (same with Widnes in 200icon_cool.gif. There stadium is further down the line as it stands and made a profit last two years compared with administration? Not rocket science unfortunately. Yes they should stop banging on about it directly but it is important no?

If you had gone into admin / sold up 6 months ago would maybe have had a fighting chance but what can the new owners possibly do in what 35 days time before bid goes in?

I'm of the mind that we'll be kicked out of Super League due to recent transgressions not present optimism but I'm also of the mind that we can do all we can this season under new ownership. My big hope is that we hear positive news about Newmarket before the bid goes in and then we we can put in an excellent bid but otherwise I think it's going to be very tough. Phil Clarke's comments are pretty nonsensical however.

To be totaly honest i am really really pi%*ed off with listening to media comments about wakefield been kicked out off super league. I think the media have forgotten that there is another two teams that are under virtualy the same pressure as us and that in my opinion dont have as strong a bid as we do. We have a youth development dept that all other clubs try to aspire to and the same goes for our community dept. As it was said on tuesday, nothing seems to be happening on the land where cass are ment to be building there stadium. And before cass fans start getting all defensive im not saying ur not getting ur new stadium just staiting what i can see. Yes wakefield trinity wildcats have been down and out as Phil kindly pointed out on boots n all but this is the year of the WILDCAT and with the backing of Andrew Glover and his team and us the loyal wakey supporters, we ARE WAKEFIELD AND TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER !!
