Just tried to go onto the Wakefield Council planning portal, but it appears to be down. Typical!

| That was the date doing the rounds the other week but not seen anything official confirmed. I know Sir Rodney Walker was at the York Court offices the other week so hopefully progress is being made, can't happen soon enough for me.

That is not the date for the detailed submission - rather it is the date for submission of the reserved matters. As such it is a critical date as submission of these outstanding reports etc completes the outline planning process - i.e. it is granted.

| As I recall there's a fixed term between final approval of outline planning & the submission of detailed planning permission, 6 weeks if I recall.
Would that fixed term start after the 4th? If so we'd be looking at late May/ early June?

There is in theory - but I think all parties would agree that they need to get the mix right before submitting the plans. As part of the current discussions everyone will want to be sure that we get maximum value and maximum use out of what is built. Partners require confirming and final funding agreeing and signing off - then we will know what is going to be built. No quick fixes just yet!

Reserved matters does deal with the finer details doesn't it? Things like appearance, layout, building sizes etc? I thought he granting of the reserved matters permission was the final step and then building is able to commence? Or am i getting confused?

That is not how I understand it = perhaps IA might be able to advise better.
It's chicken & egg - what you build for what you've got or what you can get for what you want to build! Until you square that wheel then you can't really complete the plans - although they can be altered.

I agree it would be brilliant to see everything finalised and signed off but everything needs to be right for everybody involved in the development which involves lots of meetings which I believe has been happening on a weekly basis and can't be rushed. Having said that if we're going to be in for the start or part of the 2015 season they need to get a move on.

Agree, I think it's sometimes forgotten that the stadium is part of a much larger development, so there's a lot more to it than getting the stadium plans sorted.
