Quote ="vastman"That’s all true.
What you don’t seem to take into account in the same way the all the experts on here don’t is options.
He runs a club that has been failing for 40 years, none of it of his making.
He has always made it clear he won’t incur debt both for the club or himself chasing success. He has always been honest about this, something people now seem so happy to ignore as they throw there toys out the pram.
Same people who wouldn’t risk a penny of their own money.
So what options has he had!
He’s attempted to keep real star players and has done so. Yet somehow you expect us to pay those wages and still be able to compliment them with others, get real.
He did manage for a while but our luck has run out and the sooner we accept that the better. We as a club have been burning the candle at both ends and it might now be over.
We’ve lived on scraps for years and MC has done his best with incredibly limited options, I’d love to see anyone on here do better I really would.
Finally there are many on here with incredibly short memories and limitless amounts of ingratitude. When MC leaves he will do something no Trinity CEO has ever done. He may leave the club relegated for now but he won’t leave it broke and pennyless like every other previous owner has.
Relegation is not wanted I agree but without Carters prudence it would have happened before now. And without cutting our cloth now it would have become inevitable.
It’s a simple equation - no new ground developments and the resultant financial rewards then no Trinity in any form not just SL.
Regardless of on field performances the Trinity that started 2022 was already unsustainable in it current set up. Without them we would eventually have been relegated but with absolutely zero chance of coming back up or even surviving. We were doomed anyway.
Same will apply to Cas unless they sort it.
The new east and north stands are our saviours not some NRL prop no matter who’s he is.
Fans are not expected to be realistic I accept that but those who run the club are. For that I have total admiration for our BOD even if we are relegated and in truth I fear we will be as I think all our nine lives were spent years ago.'"
I rarely agree with Vastman but this is spot on. Personally I’m gutted with the situation we’re in but I’m totally peed off with the know it alls on here passing judgement on Carter and the rest.
This is the nub of the argument - “He (Carter) has always made it clear he won’t incur debt both for the club or himself chasing success. He has always been honest about this, something people now seem so happy to ignore as they throw there toys out the pram.
Same people who wouldn’t risk a penny of their own money.”
Absolutely! Time for posters on here to put up or shut up. Stop carping and start supporting.
