Quote ="Redscat"Tha' s the point I'm trying to make, PT. The fact that I look at this forum on my laptop means I don't have to have a phone in my pocket for 24 hours a day and I'm not likely ro be tapping away w hilst walking down Westgate or sat in the pub or on a bus. It seems that a good percentage of your 58 million would commit suicide if they were deprived of their (not so) smart phone for a day.'"
I can't speak for the other 57,999,999 but I don't need to tap on my phone while walking, and in fact couldn't. Unless I was using the maps to find somewhere I guess.
I don't get the bus but let's assume train is the same? I can read a book on my phone. And if needed I can communicate with friends or work, when I would otherwise by just looking out of the window.
I can also text someone to pick me up using WhatsApp which is free compared to texting.
It's all just a matter of how you use the technology.
