| What would your all time top Trinity XIII be?
Nothing official as yet but Trinity Heritage are researching all things Trinity and its 117 year history. We are asking ex-players their best XIII which they've seen play or played with and we are fascinated what the fans think.
Obviously not many will have seen Trinity pre-war and many players will be 1960 onwards.
As a start ours is:
Sheard, D.Smith, K.Smith, A.Mason, B.Juliff, D.Topliss, M.Lampkowski, G.Ballantyne, N.Bell, J.Thompson, G.Idle, T.Skerrett, M.Morgan.
Subs: W.Lewis, N.Fox, M.Graham, R.Price
Honourable mentions to A.Fletcher, S.Ella, A.McCurrie, M.Jackson, J.Leuluai, M.Conway, B.Conway, Keith Rayne
Over to you....

| Quote ="PopTart"I'm finding this hard as I've watched since mid 70s and there are a lot of players who deserve a place. The hard part is to pick good players while they were at Wakefield rather than players who were great before arriving and were getting old with us, like Steve Norton for instance. Great player in his day.
So I'm going for
1) Henry Paul
2) Andrew Fletcher
3) Keith Smith
4) Sid Domic
5) Jason Demetriou
6) Wally Lewis
7) Mike Lampkowski
Adrian Shelford
9) Alan McCurrie
10) Trevor Skerrett
11) David Solomona
12) Gareth Ellis
13) Ray Price
As Clan says, I have tried to build a team rather than just the best players but predominently that is the same.
I have however kept them to their correct positions. If I was able to build the team myself and bring them to modern day I would play Lampkowski at hooker and probably play Danny Brough at Scrum Half. I think Lampy would have been a world beater as a modern day hooker. His game was perfectly suited to that role.'"
I can't believe I missed Nigel Bell out. I'm going to have to put him in as hooker.

| Off the top of my head based only on players i saw play
Henry Paul
David Jones
Andy Mason
Sid Domic
Ryan Atkins
Nigel Wright
Geoff Bagnall
Jonny Thompson
Nigel Bell
Darren Fritz
David Solomona
Michael Jackson
Gareth Ellis
Willie Poching
Andy Kelly
Shane Tronc
Adrian Shelford
Special mentions for JD, Gary Price, Richard Slater, and all those i didnt see play.
Was tempted by Richard Goddard or Adam Hughes on the wing, but went for putting Ryan Atkins there as i reckon he would be a very good winger.

Absolutely spot on as a very young boy I was privileged to watch that team, there was some tough nuts in there as well. Got to know the coach ken trail really after he retired, have got lots of stories but as they say that is for another day. One of his main regrets was not signing Mick Shoebottom, the chairman at that time was not convinced. By the time he won him over it was too late and Leeds had signed him.
