Quote ="bren2k"That was a pretty dour affair, particularly in the first half, which was significantly less entertaining than watching the mighty Sandal Spartans U13's beat Lindley Swifts yesterday morning.
The second half livened up a bit, particularly in the last 20; for mine, Ganson saved Hull from us nicking it at the end - what the bleeding hell he was up to when Moa went hunting again was a total mystery; on report but no penalty, and a lovely gesture to make a player leaving the field with a head injury come back on to play the ball - bonkers. There's some improvement in us and in decent conditions, I think our pace and fitness will see us get some good wins.
As for Hull FC and their 'big club, top 4' mentality - I just don't see it; they were dull, cynical and like us, lacked the ability to finish. Gentle out.'"
I don't think Moa went headhunting from where I was sat (south stand) your player Southern? went into a tackle then young Ellis hit him hard and he fell to the ground quickly with Moa in the middle of attempting a big shot expecting Ellis to hold the player up and as the player went down Moa tried to hurdle over the player and caught him by accident with his trailing leg. It was put on report because Ganson or his touch judges didn't seem to see what had happened (no change there then).
I certainly don't see us in the top 4 this season and neither do most of our fans, the conditions killed any chance of an open expansive game and lead to mostly barging down the middle. Our execution was very poor but Wakey defended well. Good luck for the rest of the season (apart from the return game at your place
