Quote ="The Clan"My thoughts exactly!
The Rugby football league and the Crusaders are working very hard to bottle up news of any problems that the Crusaders are suffering. At the same time there is some disinformation being put out to offer the impression that the Crusaders are doing okay. For example news stories linking them with new players.
If the Crusaders implode then the Rugby football league can not relegate any other club whilst at the same time keeping the Crusaders in super league. Even the expansion card has limits to how far the Rugby football league can go to protect an expansion club and the more information that reaches the public domain about Crusaders problems the more stupid the Rugby football league will look if they exclude any other team only for the Crusaders to go to the wall within months if not weeks. Too many people will say that there was enough doubt surrounding the Crusaders franchise for the Rugby football league to have seen the writing on the wall and yet they still relegated another club. In my opinion this scenario would render the positions of certain people namely Richard Lewis and Nigel Wood, untenable.'"
So what information is in the public domain that show Crusaders are in trouble (or more to the point what are you insinuating is being hidden?)
It will be quite interesting so see how the franchising applications are viewed, given that Widnes were unable to use the full weight of their past successes owing to their admin, what will be used to compare Crusaders and Wakey who could both be viewed as new clubs?
