I don't think that this debate need be all or nothing. My position that he is the coach with the best pedegree that the club has had in over 30 years is I think clear to evidence if one examines his track record against his peers (perhaps Peter Fox might contend with him but for how long was he our coach? Wasn't he a football manager type over the coach?)
However to assert this on one hand does not preclude us from questioning some of his methods on the other - this is, I believe, quite legitimate. I guess I piped up earlier in the thread because I don't feel its reasonable or fair for people to take his failings as the reason for our losses (as was common place last year) without giving him credit for our successes.
All managers operate within a context - it isn't hard to present a narrative that interprets last season in the light of a range of uncontrollable (certainly out of JKs controll) off field and then do similar this season.
Even if this season is the result of a remarkable subculture amongst the squad surely JK desreves some credit for his part in creating that. My position has always been that it is easy to golrify or dam a coach or player based on a short period (say a season or so) but the real test of their metal is their contribution over the longer term. For me JK, accounting for the off field stuff, has been an outstanding success for us in the longer term.
