Quote ="smoking monkey"Cas kept the one promise that really mattered...to tonk your boom and bust outfit in a Grand Final and enter SL through the front door of promotion. When Widnes sneak in on the back of a nice ground but without another GF appearance I think it must be time for you guys to ditch your sob story because previous injustices will have been more than righted.'"
You are right you were promoted because you won a grand final in the proper days of promotion and relegation and congratulations to you, no argument from me on that.
However you were given a license on the back of broken promises re developing your stadium and facilities along with Trinity and Salford.
We will not sneak in on the back of a nice ground at the next round of licences. If we get in it will be because we will have satisfied the criteria in terms of facilities, on field criteria (NR Cup Winners 2009), junior development (last season we topped the SL U18s Academy league), turnover (over £1 million) and attendances (averages in excess of 2,500).
All the above takes hard work and committment from a dedicated Chairman and management team, support from the fans and local business community. It will not be because we were given a nod and a wink from the RFL.
Check out the licensing criteria because appearing in a Grand Final in the season prior to being awarded a license is not part of it, you are getting confused with the good old days of promotion and relegation.
