I wasn't trying to stir it last week, but the brutal fact that an announcement on the trinity website is not an official takeover. I said it seemed a little odd... It may be a verbal agreement with a good intentions to see it through, but once it's in the hands of the administrators then it's up to them to decide the best FOR THE CREDITORS not the club. until you come out of administration it's not owned by anyone apart from the administrators. Any ownership after that will be put to the creditors to vote on (I think they need 75% of the vote - based on debt)
It may have been that HMRC had the requisite percentage of debts owed that they could basically give the nod to the administrators to say "get the best deal" and then they'd just sign off on what they could get.
but It may be that SRW's donation that turned into a loan meant that the HMRC no longer had the required percentage and that it'd have to go to a vote.
I honestly don't know...
what did seem odd was the announcement on the website, it seemed more just to give a boost to the players, the fans and get some positive PR before the weekend, but how legally binding and how solid a deal it is only time will tell
(by the way - if it is just a PR stunt it suggests that the potential new owners are playing the same game as previous owners)
Obst, Millard, Jeffries - three overseas players. Are there any other foreign players with non-EU passports? Are they deliberately trimming the squad down to EU only players?
Whatever the rights and wrongs of what's been done by the management in the past, I wish you all the best. Horrible situation to be in watching your club in dire straits - I remember seeing the Leeds team disintegrate in 1995-96, and it wasn't pleasant.
Well reading these threads most of the evening it seems obvious that some thing's gone tits up over the weekend and unfortunately I don't see any way back for Wakefield

Right now I'm very much a doom & gloom merchant
'"
that's why if some announcement of what is happening can lighten the blow.
[size=200To the club for the good of the fans that have stayed loyal can we be told more of whats happening please
