Quote ="kinleycat"What with jamie leaving and other big earners also being rumoured to be on the way at the end of the season. What are the chances of JK chasing myler from Salford, the wages shouldn't be too much of a problem with all the alleged players gone and he has publicly stated he would like to be able to bring some of the youngsters (British) through!!!
I think the most interesting thing about the movement out of players is what amount of that saving will be put back in the cap.
As you know the clubs have voted to keep the cap the same, that's also because most of SL as you know are not yet using the present cap. We being among the lower spending clubs.
With this years reccession showing no signs of abating and threatening to extend well into next year.
What stance does the club take on it's cap?
The commercial revenue this year is almost certainly down on last years forecasts, so the club will have to budget accordingly for next year.
Which will almost certainly see our cap remain the same or have a % cut.
But the clubs playing rosta and strategy does look strong at present with the youngsters developing and an eye for other clubs cast offs JK seems to have the balance right and hey 6th ain't bad.
Especially for a club that spends what we do on it's cap.
The longer term sensible strategy probably is for the growth to return for the following season and the build up to the new franchise and hopefully new stadium.
