Fund raising meeting.

I asked about 40th man and Gary will look into it.

Gary wants some fundraising suggestions for the closed season and we are going to have a Cougar Christmas Party!! Hope you can all attend it should be fun. Details yet to be arranged but hope it is a good un.

All agreed that there is enough fundraising during matchday.

Whilst we were there a lady (sorry forgot the name Rach can you help/) donated £200.0 from the Cougar Stompers which is a line dancing meeting held every Tuesday at Cougar Park. Have to say a very big thankyou to them.

Anybody with any ideas???? We have a wonderful facility a Cougar Park that we could use.

Maybe have themed music nights down there?

There's already a Blues club isn't there?

What about different genres? Indie, Metal, Motown, Jazz, Electro, Old Skool dance, Northern Soul etc.

Bring an appropriate band or DJ in for each.

Good point stealth, thinking a little bigger, what about arranging an annual party in the park?, it would have to be as good as and not clash with the bingley one. This would certainly bring in some very good money and raise awareness of keighley cougars, of course you could even make season tickets available to party goers at a reasonable rate!

I had thought about that, it would have to be on a smaller scale and a proper organiser doing it - and the toilets, well the toilet situation at Myrtle Park was not a nice experience for me.

Will suggest possibly for next year. I understand there will be an act/dj on after every match next season and possible celebrity/sportsman visits.

As for the theme nights - I think that is a good idea - I am going to Butlins Skegness for a 70's weekend soon, will get ideas.

As a way of raising the profile in the town, what about some kind of reward/discount scheme for people wearing a Cougars shirt in the town?
It doesn't have to be owt big - maybe 10p off a pint in pubs, 5% discount in a shop or whatever, but it could get the shirts out and about, and therefore get the club noticed a bit more around town.

Think perhaps a stall in the market on a saturday morning running up to start of the season could help, some on show to be able to order perhaps.

The slightest bit of bad weather and the pitch would be destroyed. You should have seen Myrtle Park last year after it rained.

Or even see if we can blag that area outside Greggs café in the shopping centre. Saturdays and the late night shopping Thursdays leading up to xmas.

Goosey - not sure how you'd manage blagging a discount, but then I'm not the marketing guy; perhaps someone could ask Helen... oh that's right, she's been made redundant. Shame, she'd probably have come up with something...
I suppose all you can do is appeal to the community spirit of local pubs and shops. Pubs shouldn't be too hard, if people know they'l get a discount they may well pop in to a particular pub instead of a different one, especially on a match day when they might have the shirt on anyway.
Also, it's a way of 'sponsoring' the club without having to part with too much cash. Perhaps a cheap pie in Smithie's, for those Silsdenites wearing a pair of Cougar underpants?!

I always knew those Cobbydalers were a bit on the wierd side.

Sorry a bit late but these are the minutes from the Fundraising meeting 13/9/10

· Rachel to put a story about the Cougar Stompers on the website (actioned within the meeting)

· A Christmas party will be held on behalf of all supporters, sponsors, etc, in the Hall of Fame in December – unfortunately girls the best I can do is Friday 26th November unless we have it in the Diamond Suite where there are some dates available in December? Let me know. There will be free food but the drinks will have to be paid for. Fund raising activities such as a Festive Quiz and Stand Up Bingo will be organized

· A Race night will be held on 27th December after the Dudley Hill match (according to Colin we’ll sell horses at the Keighley Select match on 19th December). GF to see Colin next week.

· Rachel will organize quarterly quiz nights with the first one being on 22nd October in the Hall of Fame

· A “Back to School” party will be organized for Friday 21st January. All players will be invited as well as all supporters

· A Casino night has been organized for Saturday 13th November

· We need to discuss re-invigorating the Supporter’s Club – GF to speak to Colin

· We need to sort something out for the 40th man raffle

· We should discuss further the concept of the season ticket holders receiving benefits to attract further fans in (e.g. 4 free vouchers for the season for new faces)

· There should be cheaper lager in bigger bottles

· We need to develop a mascot package

· We should develop a Keighley Young Achievers/Freddie’s Friends process where it culminates down at Cougar Park

· Gale’s son Joe will be the MC/DJ for next season – thank you Joe!

· We need a further discussion regarding merchandise, e.g. players signed photos for £1
