Chuffed that Keighley went up, and obviously chuffed that Leigh got the luck.

We deserve to be relegated, but we also deserve to be re-instated as Gateshead had a quality team full of Aussies and a proven coach with very to little income. It might sound scinical, but they are their own making, and i am pleased that they are at least to re-establish themselves in C1.

Now lets be brutally honest. A successful Leigh side can put 1000 on anyones gate, and you will find next season no different.

For mine, the Championship is THE best division in any sport. As already been stated, to score over 50% of the total points and be technically relegated would not happen in any sport or any other division in the RFL.

We all now know that 30 points may not be enough to stay up in this excellent league in which I am please two traditional teams in Keighley and Dewsbury will be part of next year !

Last time I went to Keighley, I think we won 35-0. It was a few years ago mind, but we took more than 1k easily.

Leigh and Widnes are the best supported away clubs. We averaged 2k last year with one of the worst seasons in years. Imagine if we had a Barrow or Halifax side to watch week in and week out, and they couldn't muster much more than us!

Anyway, best of luck. I hope you don't need it, but I think you might!

Away support will be most from Widnes and Leigh, Leigh look like they have a big following as most are around 20 stone which makes it look more then there actually is.

Widnes always struggle when counting away supprt because of the ' extra fingers ' , it wouldn't be so bad if they actually had the same number on each hand , but 6 on 2 of them , and 7 on the third

To be honest I thought all you lot from the Western side of the Pennines were like that.

The last time Leigh came to Keighley was in 2004 and the crowd was 1,091. I think there were a few more than 90 from Keighley. The most they brought then was 300-400 in a year when they topped the table, so any talk of 1,000 plus travelling support is complete fantasy.

This division will bring us some decent crowds n hopefully some good days in the Hall of Fame..

In 2003 ,early 04 , my first real season behind the bar, Used to love the days of Widnes ,Halifax, Hull KR (b4 they reached SL) , Leigh and Barrow on a FULL on away day....yep was well busy , hard work , loads of banter but most of all fun !!

Assuming we're going to be getting bigger crowds, and therefore more people in the bar...
...are you going being given any extra staff, Rach? It got fairly busy in there last season at times! Seems a bit harsh on the bar staff to expect them to cope with a lot more demand.

Apart from the Cas ,York n Oldham games it was never really busy in there..certainly not like it was when I first started behind the bar and to be honest there were usually no more that four of us , as there are now then .

15 mins to get a pint and sup it,no chance.What about the bottle bar?were gonna need it this season.

Or, those big two-pint containers like thet had at the Halliwell-Jones stadium!

They were great until we'd drunk the whole stadium dry.

I think the attendance for the GF was a little higher than our average gate will be next season, mind, so probably a few more people drinking...
..although it would be nice to be wrong about that!

For Halifax, Leigh and Widnes they should get a guest local Ale in and charge say £3.50 for a 2 pinter. They're just big enough to last 40 minutes.

Personaly I can see the advantages of the two pint pot from the point of view of speed of service .BUT it isn't up to me, a a mere mortal , the decision to be fair rests ,with Mandy and Colin..

HOWEVER ,
( and I hate to be the harbinger of doom ) ... but 2 pint pots do encourage some people to go over the odds in their alcohol consumption,(something I know would never happen with contributers to this board !!) .... and I'm sure the club do not want to be accused of encouraging irresponsible drinking ,especially in light of Barrys recent contribution to Alcohol awareness week

what would be your stance on someone bringing their own two-pint pot?
Would you fill it for them?
