Hi all and a belated Happy New year to you all. I am a Halifax fan and I am wondering what the state of the pitch is like at Cougar park? With a bit of a thaw seting in and with temps to stay cold for the rest of the week but no getting to the zub zero temps we had last week and no more snow forcast I was wondering if we could get together as fans and clear any remaing snow off the pitch on friday to get the game on?

The call has gone out for volunteers on another thread.

I spoke to groundsman who said they're leaving clearing the snow until later on this week to try and stop the ground freezing solid, but at the moment the game is questionable.

I wonder which weather forecast you saw.
The one i saw this morning for this area is, snow falling Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temp to stay below 0 for the next 7 nights.

Look North weather infact I have looked at most forcasts

BBC 5 day forecast for Keighley suggests no snow from tomorrow and a low of -1 for rest of week. 2 degrees for Friday so there's a chance we could get a game.

trust me the local forcasts are nearly allways spot on so jut get diging the snow off the pitch and we should be fine.

Ive now heard that they was trying to get a machine to clear the pitch but failed so will now be calling the game off I dont know how true this is anyone got any news?

Cold with light snow fall through wednesday followed by a warming through late Friday and into saturday. it will be down to whether the pitch is frozen or not... me guesses

Only saving grace is that on one side of the ground there's a main road and on the other side the road leads to Keighley's gritter depot.

I was there shovelling snow yesterday (...ooh me back, missus!) and in my admittedly un-expert opinion, I reckon we'll get a game on monday or tuesday, providing we don't have another big freeze before then.

I've just done a turn this aft and apart from a 40X20 yard area, which is waterlogged and frozen the surface is fine.

We just need the weather to help us out a bit.
