| Sadly the current crop are being punished for what happened 10-15 years ago, whether guilty or not. You can understand the standpoint from the sponsors POV but this is absolutely not the way to encourage people to speak out now. We'll be back to square one before you know it if we're not careful.

| If it did go back to square one would that be a bad thing?
Doping at the levels we saw at US Postal may be behind us but those guys from that era are now DS's and Team Managers. Dopers managing riders!
The UCI are still here with no idea what to do who played a part in the lies.

| Rabobank are honoring next season's contracts , but will not be associated. So will be wearing plain white jerseys with no advertising.
Also rumour is that skoda are reducing their commitment.
Last night was the livestrong anniversary. Lance told the crowd its been a tough 2 weeks. He's had better and he's definitely had worse.
Now I know the chance of dying from cancer is classes as bad, but to me its almost as if he's saying so what if I cheated. Compared to cancer its small beans.
The continued arrogance and refusal to accept any responsibility is disgusting. Especially I. View of the lives that will be destroyed as sponsors take away thei money from the now heavily tainted sport.
There's an article by Gesink on the cycling news website that really puts the impact of this into perspective.

I understand your point, but put into context, considering he was at the Livestrong Foundation anniversary, and not there to defend himself, I think that's a reasonable thing to say.
I agree that outside that environment his attitude probably wouldn't change too much but I don't think too much can be read into him addressing that particular crowd.

| I don't know too much about Livestrong. I know they do something but I couldn't tell you what they do other than giving people with cancer hope. The hope that Lance Armstrong gave people was that he got off his death bed and went on to win the Tour de France 7 times.
That is why the wrist bands are yellow. That is why their branding has yellow in it.
What on earth does Livestrong do now seeing as their poster boy got off his death bed and didn't win the Tour de France 7 times? What happens when people start asking whether his doping regime contributed to the cancer in the first place?
Do the worldwide community care about his doping? I don't live in the USA but what are Americans saying? Sure Nike and Trek have dropped him but he was of no longer any use to them anyway. Lance Armstrong had stopped selling bikes for Trek a few years ago.
The best thing Lance can do for Livestrong is to clear out of the way and let them define what kind or organisation they want to be in the future.
The best thing Lance is likely to do is to shut up and disappear . The best thing he should do is to come clean but if he does that then he will end up in jail having previously sworn in front of a grand jury that he didn't dope.

The big mistake everyone is making right now is pretending that Lance Armstrong is ancient history. He wasn't - he was riding with the current peloton just about 2 years ago.
Delighted to see Lance get his legacy ripped to pieces but what about cycling itself? The case is harming the sport again and is bringing forward a whole new set of questions.

| I think the worst thing is that having stripped LA of 7 tour titles, they can't award them to anyone else as the nearest contenders are all tainted too, so they've effectively declared those tours null !

What you think is bad, I think is right.
If the UCI had taken steps when they knew that dodgy stuff was going on then we might have had legitimate, clean riders winning in 99-2005.
For now we must look at those years with distain and make sure those mistakes are never repeated again.

| So what we saying about the Tour route this year? Looks a bit of a beast. Not Wiggo territory, that's for sure.
Bastille Day, summit finish on Mont Ventoux. Already sticking the farm on Tommy Voeckler for that one

| Then there is a stage that goes up Alpe D'Huez twice! I do not fancy Wiggan's chances of retaining his crown and instead it is more Contador or Schleck terrority so that would be one drug cheat then, just what the tour needs.

| Looks like a far more entertaining route than this year. Two assents of the Alpe, Bastille Day for Mont Ventoux, Nice TT up Mont St Michel, Dusk finish on the Champs Elysees.
Prediction - Contador to win unless Sky can work out how to use Froome and Wiggins in tandem to attack Contador when he least expects it.

| Wiggins isn't targeting the TDF. He's main priority next year is the pink jersey. He has stated though that he will be at the start in Corsica and work as a super domestique for whoever is team leader.
I think froomedog may also have potentially made a wee boo boo yesterday on ES. By stating that he didn't think the parcour was as difficult as he was expecting could be statement he comes to regret next July.

| hahaha..it will draw big ratings no doubt, even if it will be selecteapproved questions. Will he come out and say he's guilty.. I'm actually not sure either way to be honest. One hopes he might but deep down I think he will deny most of it, admit to some minor indescretion pointing the finger at all and sundry saying everyone in the pro pleton was at it but talk about the pressure to win coming back from 'cancer' yadda yadda.
