I think you may be right on both counts but I think it is better for Lewis to face him now than in the final where it could really be a case of him getting overtaken by all the hype but I've still got the feeling he could easily capitulate against Taylor as he usually does (hope I am wrong).

James Wade really needs to grow some balls when he loses. He's a right crybaby.

Stompe got beat by Webbo, both of them interviewed together having a laugh and a chat. Stompe took his defeat on the chin and had the balls to sit next to his victor and discuss the game.

Whitlock on the other hand gets interviewed on his own. Wade nowhere to be seen. Probably thinks that because he's screwing a Sky Sports employee, he doesn't have to be interviewed by them.

Fancy Whitlock to make the final but if him and Webster get knocked out in the semi's can we expect an announcement that the 3rd place play off will also have a Premier League place up for grabs for the winner???

I have to agree that Taylor was outstanding but I wouldn't exactly say that Lewis bottled it. With his match stats tonight he would have beaten pretty much anyone else in the competition (less Whitlock) and Taylor would have beaten all comers. Lewis wasn't all mouth, he was confident (as he should be otherwise why turn up?), also plenty of action just beaten by an fantastic player.

Come on Webster, and whitlock. Lets see the new guard overtake the old guard this year.

Whitlock`s scoring,phew,and he just seems as cool as a cucumber whilst doing it.

I do not think I have ever seen anyone handle the pressure as well as he did. Just got on with the game, ignored Wade geeing up the crowd and threw some great darts...total respect to him.

Have to agree. In any other match, Lewis with those averages, would have come out a winner. Just beaten by a better player on the night, proving once again that Taylor retains the ability to up his game when he needs to.

If he sticks at it there is no reason why Jackpot won't be a future winner of this tournament.

In fairness to Lewis, he played well and had a good average but Taylor played the big moments right and had too much for Lewis.
