Now, I firmly believe if Chiellini wasn't on a yellow the ref would have given it, it was a clear as day foul, he had no reason to dive as he would have been in the box free of any challenge. But the ref bottled it, which is to be expected with Juve.

A year at Juve could be what he needs. Physically he's excellent, he's brave and he's tough, but I dunno, I think he deserves a chance, especally with Puyol/Marquez ageing, give him a couple of years to mature and sure up his passing game and he could be an excellent player.
