Exactly! All very well giving it the big 'un at the press conference, weigh-in etc, how about an actual fight worth watching? Think of the quality we saw last week compared to that?

It is, but what I was getting at was that those odds were even bigger a few weeks back.

| If Valuev struggled against Holyfield who is over the hill, doesnt hit as hard as Haye and was never a very big guy, is 2" shorter than Haye also I think Haye has a great chance, my only worry is that he might get knocked out by a seemingly soft jab... I dont know that Haye will KO him, but I think if he moves well makes Valuev miss with the Jab and then counters with bombs we might see the giant looking a mess by the end, maybe with his corner pulling him out before the start of round 11

| Haye needs to fight smart. If he does that he will be too quick and ultimately too good for Valuev.
Has anybody been watching Pacquaio/Cotto 24/7? The Pacquaio camp doesn't seem right to me. There seems to be alot of distractions. I don't know whether that'll play a part on the night, but Cotto is no mug and he'll need to be at his best.

Roach has played it all down. They didn't seem to have that bond together in the show. Pacquaio playing basketball against Roaches wishes, meeting politicians, having the camp in the Philipines and not Canada like Roach wanted. But I guess you can only work from what they show you..
Another side to it is that some people think they are doinf it as an act! I don't buy into that myself though.

Aye, add in the bitching between his conditioner and friend and there's lots of problems in camp. There just seems to be a complete contrast in camps. Cotto seems focussed and united with his camp on what will be the fight of his life, whereas Pacquaio doesn't.
Pacquaio is absolutely brilliant, so I'd still have him as slight favourite, but I watch the 24/7 series and whilst you only get a glimpse of the two, you have to wonder if he's focussed.

He's very open about caring so much about his home land. The current events over there can't not have an effect on him. Especially while he's actually there.
Some more knowledgable people are saying Cotto's new trainer has picked some terrible sparring partners and think they have made a huge mistake there..

| On the evidence of the 24/7 series Manny's camp has problems. But don't be fooled, Pacquiao will be ready for this fight and Cotto will have to fight the fight of his life and Pac is in tip top shape. Saying that Cotto looks so focused and battle hardend it reminds me of the Cotto/Margarito 24/7 series except Cotto is the one who seems 100% focussed.

| I think the main factor about Haye will be his speed, whether Valuev can live with that for the duration of the fight, i dont know.

Or whether Haye can keep his 'speed' up for a full 12 rounds with Valuev mauling him and basically treating him like a ragdoll.
Hate to sound negative, but I can see Saturday's fight being very dull, with Valuev strangling any life out of it, simply because the ref will allow him to do so.
Split decision for Valuev, though I wouldn't mind a little dabble on a draw...

| I'll be having some on Cotto at 2/1 to beat Pacman. You take Pacmans wins against De La Hoya (over the hill) and Hatton who had completely lost his focus, out and Cotto would be a big favourite in this for me. My only concern is Pacmans speed but I'm not sure he will be able to cope with the intensity Cotto will bring. Late stoppage for Cotto for mine.
Really, really can't pick the Haye/Valuev fight. Part of me is thinking that Haye can't win with him going over to Germany and their ridiculous "homer" points scoring (Valuev being in the adopted son role that the Klitschos enjoy) and that he could be knocked out at any time with his weakish chin. However, if he can box clever and steer clear of any big shots he could force a points win. If a 44 year old Holyfield can outbox Valuev then surely Haye can. Very difficult to call and I won't be betting except for a small interest in Valuev ending it in rounds 1 and 2.

Says a lot about the state of the British heavyweight division - Haye apart - when a fight between two decent pub sluggers gets this kind of billing.

| As Moe said to Homer Simpson
"Careful, we don't want to get into a boxing match here"
I'd be saying something similar to Rogan.
Last time Rogan came out fainting and dipping and got well and truely outboxed, he then came out swinging and nearly put Sexton away. (IIRC).

Its not just the British HW division though. The HW division has gone from arguably its best era (the 90s-early 00s) to its worst period in its history. It says a lot when a 36 year old David Tua is only a couple of wins away from a title shot.
Anyway you've nont Mentioned Tyson Fury...

Indeed. Rogan would be a match for anyone in a war, however I think I could out box him.

There's something quite unlikable about Haye. I want him to win though, being British and all. I will be cheering for him to get knocked out in rounds 1 and 2 though.
