The whole point of preseason is to see how quick/sharp starters are and how the rookies and backups look, thats all we have done

I don't care if the Bears go 0-4 in pre season,all I want is the starters to stay healthy and not get injured.

Im the same the preseason record doesnt mean sjit, aslong as the starters get chance to loosen up and stay fit thats all that matters

Aaron Schobel would be a good replacement

Don't think Schobel could/would want to play DE in the 3-4



Looks like Mike Wright & G. Warren will be the starters at DE unless the team go 4-3...meaning Spikes & Mayo will be out of position.

We were working out Adewale Ogunleye the other week so I think he could well come in now to add a bit of back-up at the very least

Was expecting a big year from him this season. 49ers have strengthen there O'line a lot over the per-season.
I think I can remember somewhere that coach Singletary wanted to create a ground and pound team with alot more rushing. Gore and Coffee could have been a great duo.

Freeman pass to Stroughter, about 20 yards I think.

Freeman is looking sharp. Couple of good passes in that drive and some nice scrambling in his 1st. Mike Williams excites me too. Has speed to burn. This should be a good link up this season.

I cant take Freeman seriously with that pube head haircut hes sporting, he needs a good short back and sides if you ask me

OK my view from the Bucs game last night...

1st of all check out the weather in the highlights on NFL.com. The 1st quarter was played in a monsoon and the fact the baseball diamond is still on the pitch made it a bog in parts.

Josh Freeman looked very sharp. He passed the ball well and scrambled well. I was encouraged in the 2 drives he had.

Mike Williams looks a talent. 4th round pick and already named at our no1 reciever ahead of Benn who was our 2nd pick. He has speed to burn and brilliant hands.

Bennett on D looks quality too. Made some big plays and didnt look like a backup.

Our D in general was very good. Especially the starters. Miami wernt doing much with them on the field and it took until the 3rd quarter when they got a barge over TD.

Negatives for me are our backup O line and QBs. We lack so much depth here. Josh Johnson although good on his feet isnt very accurate. If Freeman goes down we will struggle to score.

The guy ran the ball 12 times and made 20 yards. He has no speed and no leg drive when he hits the line. Caddilac was breaking tackles for fun when he was on.

Even Huggins, our 3rd string RB made 55 yards from 8. BTW this kid looks good. No wonder we kept him after he had the season ending injury in preseason last year.

Anyway, the result doesnt bother me... it was only preseason. The performance of the starters encourages me though. Im looking forward to week 3 of the PS to see them play extended game time so I can judge better.

Mixed pre-season game for us really.

We lost 27-24 to the Browns. Our starts to games are starting to be quite a worry (Cardinals play-off for example). They scored on the opening drive and then Grant fumbled on our very first play and they were 14-0 by mid way through the first quarter.

Defence was pretty poor, we should be able to stop Cleveland but we were trying out some new plays and players so i expect us to improve dramatically.

Some good competition between our RB's and back-up on offence but most impressive was the performance from the best QB in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers, who went 12 for 13, 159 yards and 1 TD.

This is why we should be drafting WR`s and not picking up everyone elses dregs !

Holt was a long shot to make the roster, this year will be a lot of 2 WR 2 TE and 3 WR 1 TE sets.

It sounds to me like he isnt even injured that badly, but he is not going to make our squad so we have placed him on IR if that makes any sense?

I would have thought it would just be easier to release him TBH because hes not going to be any better after a year out of the game
