Hatton would murder him as well, Amir cannot take a punch.'"
At this point in time Amir would finish Hatton off within 8 rounds....Hatton is a shot fighter, as his fight against Pacquaio proved.
Yes, Amir's chin got exposed against Prescott, but since then he has tightened up his defences....Hatton though, defends with his face, always has done, and recently, especially against Pacquaio, it hasn't worked particularly well...
I'd hate to see the fight happen, simply because it would be embarrassing for Hatton, being humiliated in front of a big crowd, and even worse, against a Frank Warren fighter....Ricky wouldn't deserve that finish to his career.

I can't see the fight happening, and i wouldn't ant it to but I don't think there is any way Khan would be able to put Hatton away.
Comparing what happened against Pacquiao to what would happen with Khan is unfair on all involved.
Amir will never have the raw attributes Pacman has and this is what will stop him going on to be able to step up and beat the big names.
Team Khan will avoid fighters with any real power as everyone knows they have a real chance of catching Khan and putting him away, they have learned their lesson.

I agree that Team Khan are certainly wary of any over exposure of Khan's chin, however, I don't believe Hatton falls into the category of fighter that Team Khan or, more importantly, Frank Warren would want to avoid...I reckon he actually comes into the category of fighter that Warren loves to get his fighters in the ring with, that is, a former World champ undoubtedly on the wane, will provide a big name for the CV, and will fill out a big arena.
Also Hatton's punch threat to Khan is actually questionable too....In recent times he has struggled to put fighters away, and he has certainly never been a one punch destroyer in the Bredis Prescott mould.

| Prizefighter should be interesting tonight.
Once again AUdley Harrison has been spouting off about his world title chances.
When will he realise he is a joke?

| Thought Barrett was very unlucky last night.
Looked like he would pull off a shock midway through that second round. Harrison's class showed through in the end.
Surely next he will be fighting Klitschko?

![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif) ....Nothing unlucky about getting pole-axed by a big punch!!...That's boxing, ask Frank Bruno against Lennox Lewis or more recently Taylor against Carl Froch.
As for Harrison??....What an enigma the guy is. All the talent, yet absolutely no heart....Boxing wise, from what I have always seen, he is probably in the top half dozen in the world (though with today's heavyweights, that isn't saying much!!) yet the fella is scared stiff of actually getting stuck in.
Watching Vladamir Klitchscko is quite similar, he too is also scared stiff of standing toe to toe with anybody, and its the reason why he is undoubtedly the dullest fighter on earth today.

| Harrison is actually over rated... and noone rates him!! He isnt a good boxer, would get demolished by anyone anywhere near world class. He has no heart, average power, limited defence, a good jab and straight left but cant fight on the inside at all, his whole idea is jab, jab, telegraphed left cross followed by an attempt to suffocate the opposition if that fails, then start again when the ref calls break. The only plus for him still fighting is that we might see him outclassed, out punched and then he might just admit he wasnt the next Ali... but I doubt it. Anyone outside of novice level and he will fall to pieces. Klitch would KO Harrison in 3... would be quicker but like you say, they are both very tentative.

I had it for Dirrell on the cards but I guess being in the hometown swung it for him.

I'm not so sure. A challenger has to do more than what Dirrell did to take the belt. It was a hard fight to score becuase neither fighter landed many effective shots.
Stylistically (sp) that was probably the worst match up for Froch. Kessler and Abraham are tougher opponents but are more suited to Froch, because they'll be willing fight him, but I still don't think he'll beat Kessler, and it will be a war against Abraham... I cannot wait for that fight.

I never saw the fight, but apparently this last round defeat was different to the Froch one in that he was being outclassed by Abraham pretty much all the way through.
I must admit to sharing your concerns that he may pull out of the competition though....Though for any of the fighters who lose their first bout, then this probably applies.
I would presume though that their contracts will stipulate they can't pull out??...

Abraham is now favourite IMO. He's the hardest man in the tournement, and probably in the whole sport (watch the first Miranda fight for proof). But, he's also got an excellent defense, and is a pretty skilled boxer. Not to mention his devestating power.

| Froch to get KO'd by Kessler... think Kessler and Abraham are the best 2 in the tourney. Dirrell was fast, flashy but too negative... but it gave me a glimpse of what might have happened if he had fought Calzaghe, Froch too slow, too one dimentional and Joe would have stopped him in and around the 10th IMHO

The difference with Taylor is that it appears he can't hang with the best at super-middleweight. So for me, he either drops back down to middleweight, which would be a struggle, or he retires.

The thing is though with Kessler his best performance was against Calzaghe almost 3 years ago, and he's been pretty inactive since. I'm waiting until after the Ward fight before passing judgement on him. I hope he beats Ward though.
