Detroit take Suh. Well it's a matter of opinion i suppose. From what I've read our QB position is now in safe hands. We still have a lot of holes. Hopefully we can fill a lot in the draft.

Harrigan i wouldn't worry about not getting Suh. They were 1A and 1B and i've read alot of people who think he fits your system better.

Jags and Chargers the 2 most surprising picks so far. Texans were interesting too.


Cowboys got Bryant for good value down there. Clausen still on the board, I can see Cleveland/Jacksonville trading back up for him.

I went to bed after the 49ers Anthony Davis pick....i just couldn't stay up another two hours for our pick!

Anyway, very pleased to get Bulaga. Fills a massive need and we got a steal considering where many had him going. Most had him in the top 5 and the second OT after Okung. We got him 18 spots after i thought he'd go in my mock.

IMO some of the best picks:

Tampa- McCoy-He is really a great player and seems a great personality. Sapp 2.0
Jets- Kyle Wilson- We had the best defence last year but this is going to them next year. They have everything on D and this is great value for the second best CB.
Colts- Jerry Hughes- Great value.
Packers- Bulaga (already said).

Some others were pretty good (like Okung) but those were my favourites.

Unsuprising bad picks were everywhere:

Jags- Tyson Alualu- Ridiculous reach. Could have had him in round two or later.
Giants- JPP- The second coming of Vernon Gholston. I'd rather have his team mate from South Florida George Selvie.
Broncos- Tebow and Thomas- They miss on the best reciever to draft a project player (Thomas) and miss on the best QB for somebody who can't play QB in the NFL. McDaniels strikes again.
Raiders- McLain- Way too high.


I cannot believe Clausen has fallen. The guy is excellent. Somebody could trade up to the Rams to get him or he will go to the Vikes. They can groom him to take over from Favre, however unfortunately i then have to dislike him.

Struggling to see where we go now in this draft. Too many CB's have gone for us to get good value in the second. Possibilities for us IMO are: Best OLB, Taylor Mays, Trade down, Or reach for somebody like Gerhart/Myron Rolle.

I cant believe we helped out the Broncos by not only interviewing Tebow but then trading our spot so they can draft Bryant and end up losing out on Bryant even though the idiots didnt get him WTF

I knew we would end up trading that pick though Im just suprised we stayed in round 1 TBH

and with the Clausen/Bradford debate I really havent seen enough of them to make a judgement(I dont watch college football)

But I think comparing them to Rodgers and Alex Smiths situations is a bit silly, Smith was thrown straight into a bad team whereas Rodgers was learning from one of the best QB`s around for a long time as you know, not many people can say that and thats why he has become such a good QB now.

I wonder what Sam Bradford's contract will be like ?

I heard someone mention a while back the figure of $50 million guaranteed as a possibility

Im starting to agree with you about McDaniels ever so slightly, he was in position to take Bryant and instead got Thomas and "QB" who shouldnt be playing for a while but will probably start next year WTF was he thinking?

I haven't ever compared Bradford/Clausen to Smith/Rodgers in any way other than on the basis of the draft so i think your misinformed or have misread what i have said.

THE ONLY way i have compared them is to say that often very good QB's can fall like Rodgers(you could also use Brady Quinn considering how he was rated coming out from college) and that i think the Rams have made a similar mistake (taking the wrong QB, as San Fran did).

They are also comparable in terms of systems. Bradford like Smith comes from a gimmicky spread offence (though less of a spread i admit) and Clausen, like Rodgers, comes from a more pro style offence.

I'm not saying Clausen will be as good as Rodgers or Bradford as bad as Smith and vice versa but only comparing them in terms of the DRAFT SITUATION.

He has managed to change Cutler and Marshall to Tebow and Thomas in just over a year.

I dont see a problem with them choosing a different QB to the top rated one though TBH they have obviously run there own tests with all the QB`s they were interested in, maybe they have seen something that they particularly liked or maybe they saw something in Clausen they didnt?!?

As long as they dont get a Ryan Leaf type situation they should have themselves a good QB on their hands and if they dont then at least they will be #1 next year too

Lions have a solid draft already picking up Suh and Best IMO.
