| No points for Cav today for blocking off Hushovd - demoted to last place. Hushovd now leads by 18. No chance for tomorrow as it's a hill top finish. Wiggins now 6th. Should be a good day tomorrow - time for the Yellow Jersey to change hands I think - Contador is my bet.

Looking for an interesting day today, as it's been a bit of a non-event so far, all bobbing and weaving.

| Great ride by the Wiggster to finish 5th in a mountain stage, and hit 3rd in the overall. There's a chance he could finish on the podium.

Go Bradley - great ride today and finished well. Rest day tomorrow, and if he can get over Tuesday's monster climbs & keep up with the pace on Wednesday he should have a great chance in the time trial on Thursday of consolidating third place. There's only one little hill left after that - Ventoux on Saturday.
Mark who???

| What ever happens for the rest of the tour, the Brits can be proud. Super Cav for clear reasons, Wiggins for riding brilliantly, he has a real chance right now to finish in the top 3.
Millar has also done a brilliant job in his role, shame he didn't get the stage though.
Cav has been robbed of the green jersey though, the course got narrower, he didn't change path.

Agreed. Ridiculous decision, although he was perhaps compromised by the other objective of trying to slow the field down to get his team-mate Hincapie into the yellow jersey.
I can't say I'm entirely happy with Contador's 'gun-shooting' victory celebration.

When I saw the camera angle from head on, it did look like that but then the overhead camera clearly showed he didn't move off his line but instead the course got narrower.

| What the hell was that by Lance today! I thought they had broken him. The Schleck brothers tried to break them all, they know they have no chance against the top people in the time trial.

| A great days racing today. I actually watched it live as I was off work and it was fascinating viewing. The final descent looked like scary stuff . Zabriskie took it upon himself to lead the group containing Armstrong, Wiggins and Contador down the hill at a terrifying speed . The explanation by the commentary team was that they were trying to put Evans out of it but he's gone anyway.

| Hi everyone im new to this other sports forum.Just thought id come on and see if anyone was watching Le tour.
I cant believe the performance that Wiggins has put in.He been fantastic and he was the only rider who Contador mentioned that he feared in that interview earlier.
I think Wiggins just has to hang in there tomorow, although Contador knows that he will go for it on thursday.Wouldnt surprise me at all if Contador attacks them all tomorow and try to get it over and done with.
Also how peed off was Evans during that interview!!

| The Shrek brothers applied the pressure today and the only one who could stay with it was Contador. Bradley didn't quite have it and lost over 3 minutes to drop to 6th overall. I still think he might be able to get back into the top three - he needs to gain just over a minute.

I don't get the opportunity to see it much at all these days - in the past my holidays would coincide with key mountain stages & I'd watch it all day. Highlights are on soon, so I will be watching that tonight.
Bradley may be down to 6th, but I would expect him to make up 1 - 1:30 tomorrow, which may put him 4th - can't see him getting past Armstrong & Andy Schleck may be too far in front.
Key stage will be Saturday and the trek up Ventoux - could be some big changes then as it is the last chance for positions to change. Also, riders can give their all knowing that the last stage on Sunday is just the waltz around Paris.
Contador still to win for me - I'll be patriotic & go for 3rd with Wiggins (which would be the highest place British finsh) - hopefully he'll attack on Saturday.
Happy viewing.

| Been one hell of a ride from Wiggins for the past few weeks, it's a bit gutting that he got to within one stage of the time trial before cracking.
Game over as far as the yellow jersey is concerned, barring accidents or I don't know, him forgetting to eat, he has done that before.
Would have been far more interesting tour if Lance had been on a different team, he has been flying up these mountains when the rivals have cracked.

| If i was a betting man there would be a few quid on Wiggins today from me.Hes has nothing to lose today and has to go for it and try and put the pressure on the others for the final couple of days.
Also a nice double would be Wiggins stage win today doubled up with Cavendish stage win on Sunday.Cav will want to out with a bang as the green jersey comp is now virtually over.

| As Chris Boardman said afterwards, Wiggins did an amazing ride yesterday and to only lose 3.07 minutes to the winners of the stage was a quite magnificent rearguard action when he could have lost a whole heap more.
Whether he can get back the minute and a half to 2 minutes he will need to get back on the podium today is another matter...I think he can get that on the Schlecks but cant see him getting too much on Contador/Armstrong/Kloden but according to reports at the line he wasn't completely spent at the end of yesterdays stage so maybe he was saving a little bit for today. Boardman also said it is an ideal stage for Bradley today as it's pretty much flat all the way round and not very technical so here's hoping, fingers and toes crossed...but a massive chapeau to him for an absolutely outstanding Tour so far.
