So we're 2lbs better off. A 5lb claimer instead of a 3lb claimer. I realise that the regular jockey might have a better relationship with the horse but I guess the less weight we have on a front-runner, the more chance we might have of getting home.

Abbey Express back out to 66/1 but the stablemate (Desert Soul) 22/1 from 40/1 via 33/1 and 25/1.

As with each race Abbey Express has run in this year, the fancied horses again to the fore. It didn't even lead this time.

Wouldn't take much - if someone took the 55 on Betfair and it then showed 40's to bet then the course boys would cut him.

Desert Soul did what Abbey Express did last time (although this time another horse went out in front with him), basically if either of them are to win it will be stretch the field and hope the other jockeys give them too much of a head start but it's fairly unlikely that all the cards will fall for either and let them pull that sort of feat off.

Can't see either winning a race unless it's a very poor Selling Hurdle.

Sorry I did not log on last night.....I'd have said no (2/1 was available) and it was a close run thing with Hempel getting 13 and Crump 14 points.

I would probably have tipped GB with the handicap which would have been a loser but for the play off on Thursday if they get a big start (say +28 or more) I think they could do something as Lee Richardson should get good points and they might even put Scott Nicholls in as I thought Chris Harris and Danny King rode well it was just the others did not give them enough back up.


Russia for the final are too big at 20/1 as yes Poland should win it but Emil Sajfutdinov has been inspirational to the other riders and they are all Polish based so should ride the track well. Sajfutdinov for top points scorer might be interesting too.
