West Ham shortlist is Avram Grant, Dave Jones, Sam Allardyce and Ian Holloway. Can't see Allardyce moving down south. Dave Jones seems pretty settled at Cardiff. I'd guess Holloway and Grant are most likely.

It always makes me laugh how many players the big clubs get linked with, althought it is fun to speculate. Of those though, I have a sneaky feeling Benzema and Milner may be on the radar, and Jagielka could be a possibility if Vidic leaves (although from Everton's point of view losing their 2 main centre halves in consecutive summers would be disastrous).

It would be a disaster and a whole lot worse than losing Lescott last summer. I still can't see United being interested in Jags though.

Onyewu isn't quite of Fernando's caliber, but a 'solid' player nonetheless.

I'm actually pretty gutted for him. Although he plays for Chelsea, he's one of my favourite players of all time and his run of bad luck is really unfortunate. I always enjoy seeing sides at top strength in the world cup, simply because it makes it a better spectacle.

I'd love people to combine a list of all the 'top' players who won't be going to the world cup. I think it would support the argument of the Champions League being the most competitive football tournament in the world, which is something I'm beginning to believe more and more as international football's decline continues.
