I always thought he talked sense! He can go a really long way if he stays with Roach. As Freddie said, it took him 8 years to get Pacquiao where he is now. It'll just take some time with Khan.
Earlier he dismissed fighting JMM, as he's not good enough. That's not arrogance is it..
Can't wait for the Cotto fight. My 2 favourite fighters.

| The problem I've had with Khan is the way he's been seemingly fast-tracked to becoming a World Champion without having to put in the groundwork the likes of Hatton have.
Hatton had to go through tough fights against the likes of Eamonn Magee, Vince Phillips, Dennis Pedersen, Ben Tackie, Jon Thaxton etc, etc... before he got his shot against Kostya Tsyzu.
It was through those type of fights where he built a huge following putting on some great nights.
Khan has no doubt got all the ability in the World and was clearly worth his World title shot (albeit against a poor Champion IMO) but for me it's the speed it's come at. Maybe that's down to a combination of Khan's ability and the knowledge that Frank Warren has that boxer's like Khan aren't gonna hang around years waiting for a shot and making him fortunes like previous fighters of his have.
I already know quite a number of previous Khan 'haters' who are now actually warming to him and I reckon his following will keep growing and growing with the more good performances he puts on and rightly so.
As for Ricky, I still haven't changed my mind, he's had his day and it's time to walk away with what I think is still a huge amount of respect from boxing fans.

| Boxers these days are wanting to get things done quicker then walk away from the game with their health intact IMO, even faster than they were say 10 years ago.
The idea of having 30-odd fights before going for a major title simply doesn't fit into that strategy. If you're good enough and your promoter is sharp enough then you're fighting at world level much earlier.
For some fighters arguably that comes too soon (Enzo Maccarinelli?) while others will kick on and thrive on it. I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Gavin and Saunders for example pitching for domestic title shots inside ten pro fights. You could argue they've not the put the work in to deserve one, but how much weight do you attach to a relatively successful amateur career in terms of "paying your dues"?

The Barrera fight was a gimme and an easy opportunity to get a past legend on Khan's record at a time Khan's career and his sky PPV contract needed it.
He's gone from a glass chinned fraud with his reputation in tatters to world champion and national treasure in 3 fights.
I'm not yet convinced by a long chalk.

Kotelnik was an underrated champion, Khan schooled him at 22, after coming back from a devastating 1st round KO. Does that not deserve respect.
And if people want to talk about arrogant frauds, look no further than James DeGale.

Cotto v Pacquaio - WOW!
I cannot wait to see this one, it'll be a real war.'"
Yeah i think it'll be a great tear up with both fighters capable of Knock Out Punches at anytime but the Pac-Man just to edge it IMO but i can't see it going 12 Rounds...

| Khan gets alot of unfair stick. People should realise he is our best boxer and best prospect by a mile. He's a World Champion at 22, that's a great achievement. He could go down any route he wants now and challenge the best when he hits his peak in 4 or 5 years.

Pacman is the fave for me, but it's likely to be at Cotto's weight, which will play into Cotto's hands. Cotto is alot smarter than Hatton and he's fitter, faster and stronger than De La Hoya so it'll be an awesome fight. I just feel Manny's speed will be the difference in the end.

Its at a catchweight of 145lbs. Pac & Roach wouldn't budge, and thats why there were doubts about whether it would happen. Pac has also managed to negotiate a 65-35 purse split in his favour. I really hope Cotto wins and beats him up. The yanks are already writing him off. The headline on the front of Ring Magazine says he's past his prime at 28, which is bollox IMO.
Morales is also being touted as a possible Khan opponent. Now if it happend I would try and go even though I think Khan would batter him, just to pay my respects to El Terrible. It would be a meaningless win for Khan though IMO.
I really don't don't understand the hate Khan gets, he's a young British world champion who could be in some amazing fights over the next few years.

He's young, talented, not lacking in confidence and Asian.
If the likes of Gavin and Saunders pick up as much media coverage at this stage of their careers as Khan gets, they won't get half the stick.
Probably the same haters who constantly bitched about Naseem Hamed and took great delight in his downfall.

He's confident, but not cocky, he knows he isn't quite ready for the elite level, and has said it a few times. He's a fairly well grounded dude.
Now if Khan had DeGale's attitude I could understand some of the hate he gets.

That's only 2lbs under the welterweight limit. That still suits Cotto who will put on weight for the fight anyway.

This is why I like Cotto. He isn't about the money, he's about a legacy and challenging himself against the best.

Unbelievable! He loses one fight against a fighter who has been banned for having dodgy plaster wraps and people write him off. I take it these people didn't watch his last fight against Clottey were he fought for 8 or 9 rounds with a horrible cut and managed to win? He's one of the bravest fighters out there.
I fancy Manny to win, but Cotto has a good chance of upsetting the odds.
Quote ="Andy Gilder"He's young, talented, not lacking in confidence and Asian.'"
Bingo!
People prejudice against him because of that when they really shouldn't. Khan is all class and will become one of Britain's greatest fighters IMO.

Seen on Sky. If Holyfield can come close to beating him, I can see Haye going one better tbh.

| You reckon?
Any time Haye gets within range of Valuev he'll end up in a bear hug unable to do any damage. It'll turn into 12 rounds of wrestling.
The only chance Haye has is to get the fight on either here or in the US where he's more likely to find a sympathetic referee who won't allow Valuev to stifle the fight.

| Haye needs to fight Valuev like Holyfield did, but at a higher workrate. For the good of the sport Haye has to win, and I think he will fairly easily TBH.
