Watching the first match of the tour to South Africa whilst I'm browsing. Can't tell you how dire the game is or how bad the Lions are. Makes our efforts in the World Cup look good.

I think it was 37 - 25 to the Lions who scored two very late tries and a penalty to clinch it. This was against the weakest team, by a fair distance, they will play on the whole tour. It was a scrach side from one of the weaker provinces. Look out for some heavy defeats in the next two or three weeks.

Fair enough - to be honest I don't really know much about union. Used to play it in school and preferred it to league at the time. I can't sit through even half a game now. Tried to watch the Premiership final the other week but had to turn off when London Irish went for a drop goal after about 30 seconds.

That's part of the problem with Union, drop goals worth THREE points!!!!!!

Also there's too much importance put on second phase possession. I'm OK with that but when it gets to 3rd, 4th 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th etc phase it gets just a tad boring - why doesn't somebody pick the ball up a run with it sometimes.
