I'd actually say Leigh Genesis away to Eastwood Town would be the pick of the games, Eastwood have had some very impressive pre-season results. We've managed to fill a coach for once so should be a good following by our standards.

Farsley Celtic 4-1 Fleetwood



I shall be off to my first game of the season on saturday: the knitters of Hinckley at home, who Farsley beat in the play-off final to get to the Conference.

Excellent performance last night. A pleasure to watch.

Tough one this afternoon, but after beating Crawley and Wrexham in the physical battle and still playing some decent football, I fancy our chances against John Beck's Histon. They're a nasty set of =redediteds as well, actually. And we owe 'em.

We had him on trial a few years back. Failed to impress, so went to Halifax.

Might not be a good idea to wear the 'Carry on Doctor' Shipman T-shirt?! Hyde are my least favourite club in non-league football.

Contrary to what was in all the media yesterday, Farsley did not win. They lost 3-2 and it was well gash. Although Andy Campbell (spotted him straight away courtesy of Leyther Matt's description) scored a very coolly taken goal. But the likes of Rory Prendergast and substitute Steve Torpey did bugger all.

Next game for me will be Blyth Spartans if I am still alive after Leeds fest or Staly in September. I miss the closest away game to me next week, bugger!

I really hate Histon

I thought Histon were one of the best teams I saw down at Throstle Nest last season.

They do what they do well, but if that's football then my tool is a turnip

We lost 2-0 at Eastwood on Saturday, very poor performance though I expect Eastwood to be amongst the front runners this season.

'Home' game against Ashton United tomorrow night to be played at Chorley because the pitch at Hilton Park is a mess
