| I wonder which player will be rolled out for the weekly 'We won't let the fans down again' interview this time. What a set of jokers.

| Now Chesterfield have got themselves in pole position for 7th they've started dropping points too
Could be a six horse race for the last play-off spot now...
Chesterfield 42 62 9
-----------------------------------
Shrewsbury 42 61 15
Bradford 42 60 9
Dag & Red 41 59 18
Lincoln City 42 57 4
Morecambe 41 56 0
Our next two games are Lincoln and Dagenham, so we'll definitely be out of it this time next week.

I hope so. We're two points outside the play-offs and I can't muster any sort of enthusiasm whatsoever. I'm almost at the point that I hope we don't somehow get to Wembley as it's a lot of money to spend to be humiliated.

Me too, I was hoping Chesterfield would win yesterday.
As it is they haven't won in 4, we haven't won in 7 and Shrewsbury have 1 win in 10 I think, teams like Lincoln were so far behind just a few weeks ago, now they have genuine hope the way the form of the teams above them is going.
It's just an awful standard.

| We laboured to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth yesterday, not helped by Darren Powell getting himself sent off for having a fight with one of his team-mates - utterly moronic from such a senior player. Our goal was rather fortuitious but deserved in the first half, Billy Clarke (on loan from Ipswich) was excellent but we made it very hard for ourselves second half.
That defeat for Bournemouth combined with Chester and Grimsby winning means its very tight in the race to avoid that second drop spot.

I wouldn't want to be the other guy, Powell's about 8 foot tall isn't he??!! Then again, so is half your team!

It happened right in front of me, he was arguing with Karleigh Osbourne after a corner had been cleared, it had shades of was it Stoke earlier this season? Next thing we know they've both got hold of each other's throats. Linesman told the referee and he sent Powell off and yellow carded Osbourne. We were already a goal up at this point and Bournemouth were on top, it was quite simply the most moronic thing I've ever seen.

Doesn't sound clever but it looks like the title is yours now anyway. IIRC Osbourne is a big fella as well isn't he?

He is tall, but he's also utterly useless. I have no idea why he keeps a place in the team, whenever I've seen him he's looked awful - dreadful first touch, always giving the ball away. Went on loan to Oxford United IIRC earlier in the season and thats where he should have stayed!

Sounds familiar. We've got 5 or 6 players who fit that description in our first team!

Our manager has done it himself. Took on Andy Myers and lost!
I'm hoping for a quick kill this weekend at Daggers before the talk of Wembley gets too serious. It's highly likely that Leeds will be down Wembley so the Bradford Youth (don't laugh, that's what they refer to themselves as) will be getting tiny hard-ons and threatening what they're going to do to the Service Crew and all that b0ll0x. It's amazing how unintimidating 20 spotty herberts can be. I remember them tailing 2 Exeter fans up Midland Road and the Exeter lads were pishing themselves laughing. Then the cops took the pish out of them as well.

Hopefully McCall will stick to his word and resign. He will always be a legend at the club but it's become increasingly clear throughout his time as manager that he isn't upto the job. My ideal choice to replace him would be Dave Penney who has proven that he can get a team out of this dvision and he would have repeated that with Darlington if not for circumstances beyond his control in the last two seasons .

Yeah I think Penney would be a good choice if possible, my heart says McCall should stay and I want him to be a successful manager for us but my head says he can't do it and he has to go.
My worry is a lot of this seasons wasters are getting on a bit and have 2 year deals, so we are stuck with them, if we are getting a new manager it has to be the right appointment because, if we can achieve promotion next term the last 2 years won't have been wasted because McCall, and the season ticket offers, have shaken off some of the apathy surrounding the club and got the fans turning out in force again, we've got 9000+, but that won't last unless we get out of this division before too long.

There's no cash to replace any of the wasters currently clogging up the first team squad anyway Asim. Whoever comes in will be fighting with one arm tied behind his back, and crowds much smaller next season as I can't see the season ticket offer being repeated unless the club want to go into admin again.
Sadly I get the feeling we may be stuck at this level of some time unless we can persuade someone like Man Utd to lend us a cartload of their best kids for the experience.

Many of the players apparently have clauses enabling them to leave if we don't get promoted. It would be nice if those clauses enabled us to force them out. I imagine it's the likes of Lee, Boulding, McLaren and Brandon. The only one I'd like to stay is probably Brandon, I don't think we've seen the best of him. Hopefully the rest go, but who would take them. Evans will probably be gone and I have a feeling Thorne will call it a day too so we could be starting next season with a very unfamiliar starting line-up. We won't be seeing Law or Furman back either.
The only hope is we can pluck some young, hungry talent from the lower leagues but has the scouting system been in place to identify any of this talent? I doubt it.

Well it hasn't unearthed any for the last God knows how many years, so I don't see why it would start now.

| Dear Bradford City players,
Thanks for proving what a spineless bunch you are with today's performance, it is amazing how you suddenly remembered how to do extraordinary things like tackle and pass, now it's too late.
Yours sincerely,
Asim
(ps my apologies to Rhys Evans, Luke O'Brien, Dean Furman, Nicky Law and Peter Thorne for lumping you in with the rest of them.)
