I wouldn't say well and truly overtaken. Lescott was and is a good player, he's strong and excellent in the air, Jagielka is excellent on the ground but no defender you have can match Lescott for strength or aerial ability. They complimented each other well, it will be interesting to see if Jagielka hits it off with Yobo/Distin as well as he did with Lescott.

He was a fantastic buy for Moyes, no-one wanted to know when Moyes snapped him for £5 million and he is a fantastic player.
