The new players were available last week, 4 debutants in the side. The best unfortunately broke his hand and is doubtful and one of our senior players (Shaun Leaf) was hospitalised during the game and misses out on Saturday. We continue to do it tough. Sadly, I wouldn't consider us with that start after the last two heavy defeats and I would advise caution.

In Baseball the National League Central is wide open and only 4 wins behind the leaders Houston Astros are massive at 40/1 to win the section.

In Basketball The Detroit Pistons are making two great signings (free agents Ben Gordon and Charlie Villaneuva) and will not be 50/1 for long (2 firms who have twigged have already clipped them to half those odds).

I think they were both (Steve Hall and Chris McNamara) on international duty as they are both from Loughborough Students so did not play for either team.

Ah, now you've named them that makes things easier. We had these two down as signings from Loughborough following in Mike Coady's footsteps.

Steve Hall turned out for the reserves at Sheffield last Saturday having played for the first team the week before against Batley.

Chris McNamara wasn't available when Hall made his debut but played for the first team last weekend against Sheffield Eagles (at Featherstone).

They played for both though I guess are classed as signings from the Outlaws as they turned out for them more recently (though when Outlaws played the students in the cup players registered for both clubs had a choice and both turned out for Loughborough).

Mike Coady to complicate matters I do not believe ever played rugby league for Loughborough as he was in the union side and they are too high and mighty to let their players turn out in League.....took a lot of persuading to let them use their pitch for the Challenge Cup games!!!!
