Division 2 National Champions



Premiership final is tomorrow, will be watching that. Hopefully the highlights from our game will be up soonish, great TD from the backup QB, rolled out and ended up flipping into the endzone. He's played the last 3 weeks with a broken shoulder as well...

Is it bad that one of the Rams players I'm most excited about this season is the kicker, Greg Zuerlein...?

If the guy can stay calm in a pressure situation, we could have one of the best kickers in the league this year.

Terrible from the Raiders last night, Roscoe Parrish needs to be cut after forgetting that he was actually meant to return the punt instead of play with his helmet...

The only bright spots were Criner & Streater getting a total of 3 series, that means they're locks for the roster.

NFL won't be on Sky this year apparently...

The Raiders may struggle this year, I'm not liking Palmer in the pre-season so far, I don't think it will be lomg before Leinart or Pryor get's a sniff. We had a certain left hander in the 70's who was on the scrap heap and rose to prominence in the Snake. The secondary is bad at cornerback and the linebacking core lacks any real talemt although the drafting of Stupar and Burris will help that down the road. I still think Burress was worth a look and would take us back to the Badass era a little.

The selfish part of me would be happy at this as I've got Gamepass and there'll be a few Rams games that will probably be blacked out.

Not good for the sport in this country though if they're not showing it. Still reckon something will be announced early next week.

Palmer and Leinart were both poor during the preseason, Pryor probably ended the preseason as the best QB overall, which is quite scary.
McFadden barely played, but that's just to keep him uninjured I think, Jones and Goodson were alright, but that's about it. A lot of bad decisions from them lead to big losses.
Taking 2 full backs into the season shows the lack of depth we have at TE, Reece can move around a bit, and I suppose Schmitt can be the goal line back.
Criner and Streater have impressed during the games, rest of the main guys (Ford, DHB & Moore) haven't played a lot due to injuries.
TE, nothing there really.
OL, get Wisniewski fit and they'll be alright. Bit risky going with just 8 linemen though, could be browsing through the guys who were cut to find someone.

DL, no problems here. Bilukidi looks like a good raw prospect and Jack Crawford seemed alright. Houston impressed me.
Stupar went in the final cuts. Burris & Wheeler have been very good additions at LB though. They'll be starting with McClain until Curry is back. Agree about depth there.
Corners, definitely the weak point of the team. At least if we do have a bad season, we can draft one high.
Safety, they did their job. Nothing more, nothing less.

Janikowski & Lechler, there was never going to be any other combination. I do really like Marquette King who we've managed to place on "IR" though. One hell of a leg on him.
Coverage teams were poor, Roscoe Parrish was abysmal in his only appearance, I'd have done a better job returning those punts. A returner is going to be something to look for as well.

Anyway, for Mark to pick apart in 5 months time, here are what I think will be the final division standings:

NFC North:
1. Packers - (#1 seed) I don't think we win 15 again but we will win the division IMO.
2. Bears - (Wild Card) Will push us very close. I think they will be great this year.
3. Lions -(Wild Card) Great offence and a good defence.
4. Vikings - Will do OK.

NFC South:
1. Saints - (#4 seed) Should have been punished more, but have a great offence.
2. Panthers - Good team.
3. Falcons - Average team.
4. Bucs - Top 5 draft pick.

NFC West:
1. 49ers - (#2 seed) They have a brilliant defence and so long as Smith is half decent they will win the division.
2. Seahawks - They have the potential to push the 49ers but I think they will falter slightly.
3. Cardinals - Average team.
4. Rams - Top 5 draft pick.

NFC East:
1. Giants - (#3 seed) One of the best teams in the league.
2. Cowgirls - Nothing special. Will look good but bottle it as usual.
3. Redskins - RGIII will improve them and they have a good defence.
4. Eagles - Over-rated. Tight division so they don't need to be terrible to be bottom.

AFC North:
1. Steelers - (#2 seed) Good as usual.
2. Ravens - (Wild Card) Good as usual.
3. Bengals - Good team.
4. Browns - No 1 pick in the 2013 draft. They are terrible.

AFC South:
1. Texans - (# 3 seed) Keep Schaub and Andre fit and they will win the division.
2. Titans - Really like Locker at QB. Will push for a Wild Card.
3. Colts - Will be vastly improved. Luck is offensive rookie of the year.
4. Jaguars - Average team.

AFC West:
1. Broncos - (#4 seed) Defence is good and provided Peyton is decent enough they will win the division.
2. Chiefs - With a good QB they would be SB contenders IMO.
3. Chargers - Average team.
4. Raiders - Top 5 draft pick.

AFC East:
1. Patriots - (#1 seed) Great as usual.
2. Bills - (Wild Card) I think they are under-rated. Good all around.
3. Jets - Top 10 draft pick. Offensively they are pants. Only a good defence will stop them being really bad.
4. Dolphins - Top 5 draft pick.

Love the Falcons being dismissed as an "average team" - three winning seasons in a row yet still tipped to be behind a team entirely dependent on Cam Newton.

I still think you could have a winning record, and it wouldn't surprise me if you beat the Panthers. However Turner has plenty of carries on the clock so should decline. Your defence is average and Ryan is a different player when not in the Georgia Dome/the going gets tough. Julio Jones is great though. I'd expect anywhere between 6-10 & 9-7. I don't see that being enough to a) win the division b) get a wild card

Looking very touch and go now as to whether Sky Sports will be able to sort a deal before the start of the season. It's come down to the last day or two before so fingers crossed they'll sort something out.

Pretty much impossible to imagine them screening the Cowboys vs Giants game on Wednesday, but hopefully they will have something in place for Sunday.

Easy enough to find NFL games online though - not a chance i'm missing Packers vs 49ers.

You can be damned sure that this wouldn't happen if it was the Premier League contract being negotiated can you ? I wonder what the sticking point/points might be with it ?

Two days before the season and still no deal. That is why gamepass is an absolute must. I'm looking forward to the season, it's just a shame that best game is on last.

Everybody can calm down as Sky have signed a 3 year deal to keep showing NFL starting with the Cowboys/Giants game tommorrow night.The 60 game a season deal includes the 6pm and 9.15 games on sunday including redzone on the red button,also includes thursday and thanksgiving games aswell as all playoff games.Total access will only be on twice a week.The statement on NFLUK says an announcement about the monday night game will be coming shortly which means to me they have someone lined up to take it hopefully it'll be ESPN.

We'll either win the division, or have a top 5 pick. AFC West is a very weak division atm, 2 QBs coming off serious injuries, and 1 team whose only good player is the QB.

I don't see why people are getting semi's about them this season. Maybe it's the same people who've been getting stiff about Houston for the past 5 years...with hopefully the same results!

Atlanta 6-10?

Off the back of three consecutive winning seasons, with Julio Jones now up to speed and Asante Samuel bolstering the secondary?

Its a quick fire win/loss spreadsheet. Worked out with the above. Some of the records look way out but thats what I ended up with!

On the Atlanta 6-10. Probably a bit harsh but I just don't believe in them at the moment. 2 years in a row they've done nothing in the playoffs and I think that'll play on their minds. Probably 8-8 is a fairer reflection.
