| Chael Sonnens an idiot.....words like ' you lose you leave the division,i lose i leave the ufc forever' belong in the wwe....hes an embarassment to a sport trying to look ligitimate to the knockers..
All that said,as a fighter hes very good, made Stann look very average. Wouldnt surprise me if he beat Silva.....i really hope not, would love anderson to shut him up once and for all!

| Oh no see I think it made it waaaay more fun. The media even reported and agreed with you quoting
'WWE or UFC? Chael Sonnen blurs the line'
It's a kind of you go or I go fight that will draw the numbers if it happens, Dana White even tweeted "Sh*t just got real" when Sonnen said it. This has lead to Silva's manager coming out and saying Sonnen should be "in jail" Haha.
I don't particularly like Sonnen or Silva to be honest and yes it smacks of desperation to gain a rematch on Chael's part BUT how funny will it be if Silva beats him in round 1 come the rematch.

| I have a Brazillian mate who loves his MMA, and Anderson Silva in particular. What are other MMA fans overall view of him? My mate reckons he's one of the best of all time but obviously knowing next to nowt about the sport I can't exactaly argue with him.
Ceal Sonnen is a bit of a racist with some of the stuff he says about fighters from other countries but I do find the other stuff he has to say very funny.

Anderson Silva has proven time and time again why hes the best pound for pound fighter in the world, beating everyone in front of him in the ufc and Sonnen can b!tch all he wants..he made a mistake and was beaten fair and square...i hope he shuts sonnen up for good and moves on from this clown.
As someone has said though expect sonnen to go for the same game plan as the first fight and take him to the ground at every opportunity for the full fight playing on probably andersons biggest weakness...like iv said i think sonnen could take that fight unless we see something special from silva (which isnt unusual by the way)

Dana White already stated that it would be near impossible to stage such a fight with the implications that Sonnen wanted, with their previous contracts etc...
I think Chael should have called out maybe Vitor or even challenged the winner of Bisping Vs Mayhem Miller as the winner would automatically be given a shot at Anderson anyway, but I suppose hes had to live with the fact that he should have beaten Silva last year and thats been eating away inside of him for so long now.
The only people who stylistically can beat Anderson in his division or lower are Sonnen and GSP because of their dominant wrestling. Dont get me wrong, Silva is dangerous anywhere in the cage including off his back but fighting the fight they want and winning by a boring lay and pray is the only way your going to be able to beat such a dominant fighter.
One side of me wants Sonnen to win, I like him and Id like to see Silva knocked off his perch finally. But the other side of me says, we have to see the superfight that is GSP vs Silva and even possibly then if Silva wins, is to fight maybe Jon Jones in another monster fight. Those 2 fights alone would send the PPV figures through the roof and would elevate MMA over boxing as the only fight boxing could respond back with would be Pac Man vs Mayweather.

Pretty much agree with all of that except th Sonnen winning bit.
Dont think we'll see GSP v Silva...GSP never seems convincing to me when talking about moving up to middleweight.

| Good lad Forrest, seeing the funny side. Would have given Silva a bit of a better run earlier in his career, unfortunately his defend with your face style caught up with him in the end.
I think Sonnen can beat Silva, the guy is the best wrestler I've seen in the UFC and literally gives you no time to put anything together before he takes you down. With the experience of the last Silva fight I would actually bet on Sonnen. It would be boring but they're in there to win fights first and foremost, not entertain.

To be honest i dont think Sonnen is one of these boring lay and pray wrestlers....hes always busy on the ground and looking for a finish...i agree he has a great chance of beating silva,i just dont like the way the guy comes across most of the time....he does have his moments though when you just have to laugh.

My tickets arrived the other day. Going to see Arctic Monkeys the night before in the same arena and making a weekend of it.
People are quick to bash the card, but Taylor v Njkouani, Pickett v Barao, Omigawa v Young and Leben v Munoz should be great fights. Remember, it's not always the cards with big names that produce the best fights!

Very true....Hopefully there will be some great wars and ill be happy..Abit of a waste of time having Leben Munoz as the first 5 round non title fight though...cant see it lasting 2 rounds either way!
Its a shame Hathaways pulled out injured and probably to late to bring a decent replacement fight on to the card..id expect Etim will make up the main card now.

| Jimmy Manuhwa declined a UFC contract to continue his progression in the Gypsy Fight League, sorry UCMMA. Well he defended his belt well at the weekend with a quick stoppage. Im sure he wanted to fight Sokodjou or Houston Alexander next, didnt even know UCMMA could attract that level of fighter, thought he may have to contend with Bob Sapp or somebody.

Nope, I think it was streamed somewhere for a fee. I think SyFy had it last time it was on, but think they realised what a bum event it was to even think about offering money on it again.
Might be on Sky Sports on replay in a couple of weeks though.
Brad Pickett looks like a and hes making his debut for the UFC in Birmingham, you mean him ?

Do you know much about this mcguire? Is he worthy of a shot in the ufc?
Has anyone heard whos to be bumped up to the main card now hathaways out? I presumed it would be terry etim.

It is Etim on the main card.
I don't know too much about Maguire. He has a 16-3 record with a notable win over Dean Amasinger and a loss to Tom Watson.

| Apart from the BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz fight, last nights mian card was a severe let down.
I had high hopes for Matt Mitrione too, poor performances really.
