I'd like to see England try Rooney up front on his own with a midfield 5 to include two wide players and either Gerrard or Lampard playing in behind Rooney. When we have the ball it's and attacking formation and when we don't have the ball we can play with plenty in midfield and press the opposition.

Capello has already said though that he does not want to play with one up front.

If it was to be 451 I'd much prefer Lampard behind Rooney. A billion times better than Gerrard at that kind of role.

This season he has been. Previous to this year, I'd have had Gerrard in that role every time above Lampard.

That team won't be beating any half decent side. Most sides know we'll struggle to control the tempo, so if they make themselves compact and tight, they'll be able to counter well against our slow midfield and defence. We need a quicker midfielder to anchor, Hargreaves would be perfect if he still has his pace.

I'm not that bothered TBH. But the mass love in for Hodgson/Fulham and the way everyone seems to be supporting them tonight makes me hope that they get hammered.
