There's still time left in the window, but watching us in pre-season and seeing our signings, I can't fathom the 'plan'. We haven't played well at all during pre-season, Aquilani aside we've looked mediocre on the ball and our style play doesn't have much of an aim.

Of course, it's only pre-season and fitness comes first, but fitness isn't just how long you can run and fitness isn't the only priority. Players need to be gelling; tactics performed in training need to be executed; confidence has to be built and individual and team sharpness has to be strong.

I don't want to come across as one of these loons who are completely panning everything, but our pre-season has oozed mediocrity, both in our signings and our performances.

Suarez needs to be told straight up, forgot your break after helping Uruguay win that cup, get your backside back to training and make sure your ready for the opening game of the season, otherwise we will get battered.

It's not been a great pre-season, struggling against Guangdong, losing to Hull and then conceding 2 in 19 minutes tonight. I know they are only friendlies, but it's the perfect time to work on as you say "the plan", yet from the games it looks like nothing has been worked on at all. We look clueless at time and at the moment we are playing with what is our strongest line up of pre-season.

I think Glen Johnson still thinks he is on holiday at the moment, he's been poor. I've not seen much confidence from the team, the best player for Liverpool this pre-season has been winning a Copa America winners medal for Uruguay.

Still, we have got one more game left before Sunderland and that's a home friendly, so that might make the team wake up and actually show us something. I'm not one for panning everything either, but at the moment though, from what I've seen, I feel that it could be a long season indeed.

One thing is for sure, we look incredibly weak at the back and must sign a new left back and centre half before the window shuts.

Pre season can be very misleading. Teams dont prepare for matches as normal. A team that has worked hard on conditioning all week, including the day before the match, will often look sluggish against a team that isnt putting the work in. Similarly the positional and tactical stuff doesnt always fall into place until just before the season starts.

I'm a bit worried that City look a lot sharper than usual at this stage of pre season. We'll probably start off like Chelsea last year and then slump in mid season.
