He's lost to Federer in 2 majors and a very in form Nojo...hardly bad really.

What he lacks in another gear...the one Federer and Nadal can reach...Murray has to be one of the most steady players on the tour...but he does need another level to win a slam.

Over the last 5 years he has been light years ahead of someone like Del Potro....yet he has a major because he raised his game for 2 weeks in his life.

Can Murray do that...not so sure.

However he's number 4 in the world..and in an age of Federer and Nadal...thats pretty good

lets not forget Agassi lost his first 3 grand slam finals

While he may not be a choker/bottler he still needs to learn how to turn up when the final comes along and I don't like the quote after the game that if he never wins a slam it won't be the end of the world,to me he should be saying i'm desperate to win one and i'll do everything I can to make it happen.There was somebody on the radio a couple of days ago saying his mother needs to take more of a back seat as she's always there with him at every tournament.

He was saying something about him needing to get a greater mental strength and to mature more and having his mother around him all the time will not be helping him achieve this.

it didn't seem to affect Jimmy Connors - his mum almost bullied him off court and he ended up with eight Majors from fifteen finals !

Pretty much agree although I do think he will manage to get one some day. He has shown before he can beat all 3 he just needs to meet in a slam final with one of them and have them not be at full strength. Usually there is one standout performer in tennis at the moment there are 3.

No. Still waiting for someone to put forward any reasons why i am wrong. Lots of insults and comments from Sheep like you but nothing that persuades me that Murray will be anything other than a nearly man. The more Murray speaks the less likely i think it is that he will win anything.


Murray has so far bottled or run out of steam in 3 big finals. Challenge that point with any reasonable opposing view and i would be happy to concede.

Murray's mum may have helped him get to where he is but I can't help thinking that she is now the barrier to any further success.
