Wasn't really a case of making a move, he was just where he was supposed to be as a contender. Near the front so that when that happened, he would not lose team.
More of a mistake from lots of the main contenders today.

True, but that's his experience for you. His post race interview was very telling...

In Paris? Quite possibly, the last stage is nearly always a big bunch sprint finish, and at the moment he's the fastest in the world.

| looking ahead to stage 5 and the question is will cavendish make it 3 in a row. (obviously excluding todays team race). well stage 5 is almost identical in both length and profile to stage 3 with a long flat coastal run towards the home of french rl perpignan which hosts the finish. main danger to cav will be if a breakaway occurs and the peloton decides to let them have a glory finish as they conserve energy prior to the mountain stages. the stage also contains 2 winnable sprints if the peloton is still together

| So, did anybody spot a part of Perpignan they recognised? Despite looking for Stade Gilbert Brutus and other stuff in the centre, I never saw anything, apart from the post-race piece to camera being done by the canal in the middle of town.
Oh, and it's a trip along the Costa Brava/Dorada (I can never remember which is which!) today, taking in places such as Tossa, Calella and Lloret, all places quite a few posters have visited before games against the Dragons.

I only asked a question!
Final part of the stage is a short, sharp climb up to Monjuich (sp?), which could make things interesting.

That there have been no positive drugs tests?
(sorry couldn't help myself)
Shame for Millar today. So close. Btw. how good is it that ITV are showing this live on the red button, no more need for Eurosport!

He said he's been improving and is aiming for a top 20 finish. He seemed well pumped up. Perhaps a little too pumped up.
Cheeky move by Contador to nick 20 seconds and annoy Lance.

Did you see Lance's face afterwards in the interview? He was well angry at Contador.

| Slow race day today - probably because they were crying about not being able to talk to each other on their walkie talkies. Still, it was nice to see the return of the chalkboard again, even if it was just for today.
Another excellent finish by Cavendish.

| Wiggins lost 15 secs and a couple of places.
Probably not a lot of real action to come until the Alps.

| Wiggins got his 15 secs reinstated.
Four wins for Mark Cavendish so far. Back in the green jersey by 7 points.

| 4th placed Levi Leipheimer, a team-mate of Armstrong and Contador, has had to pull out with a broken wrist after his fall yesterday. Wiggins moves up a place to 4th.
Not the Alps, but a couple of decent climbs today. Let's see what Bradley has left.

| Chances are going to be limited for Cavendish now - can't see him picking up many points in the mountains over the next few days, or taking too many points from Hushovd on the flat stages that are left.
Maybe attention can now turn to Wiggins - not seen much press for him considering he is now up to fourth. However, as it has been a relatively uneventful tour so far maybe there will be big changes in the last week - it will be interesting to see how he copes.
