| Three days after getting mauled by Arsenal, some parts of our media are still calling for Redknapp to be England manager ...."Help us Harry" was one tabloid headline, this morning....they just don't get it, do they!
Redknapp has no 'plan B' when things go wrong (United away, City home, Arsenal away just being 3 examples in the last 6 months), he just sits there and twitches, and lets his team get rolled over.
There's an old phrase "be careful what you wish for". I wish someone would tell our media that .

its part of the english cycle of needing a manager who brings 'english passion & motivation' which following its failure see's 'foreign tactical nous' which following its failure brings 'english passion & motivation' repeat to fade

| You do realise that the press talk up 'Arry' when he comes in so that they can they say he's lost the plot when we fail again? They can ridicule him and suggest he's a vegetable.

| I wonder, if Arry gets the England job, will he take Jim White with him?
Everybody knows Arry's snuggly shoulder will turn England's Average Joes into world beaters overnight. Arry will let the WAGs be around (like Sven, who was criticised for that) which is a much more humane thing to do than what nasty, cold Fabio done.
Arry's passion and attempt to sing the national anthem will bring tears to the media's eyes, yet they won't bat an eyelid when Fabio misses his son's wedding to manage England to an actual win against Spain.
Me personally, I hope Arry does worse than McClaren, seriously, I'd love to see England miss a world cup, just to see the embarrassing retreat of the media.

The thing is, Roddy, when England do fail (cos they WILL) under the new chosen one (Arry), it'll be swept under the carpet, quicker than the press can say "nah gavna, nuffink to do wiv us, lets get a foreign manager in, now"
The clamour for "Scoddy" Parker to be the captain was just as embarrasing.
Let's face facts, "Scoddy" is just PL standard, and that's where it ends. He's not International class, never has been, never will be. The (southern based) media have got him to where he is today..
Let's get down to facts, the only player we have, who can truly be described as world class in his position, is Joe Hart. The rest are merely good/average PL players, yet we are force fed by the media, that the English Premier League is "the be all and end all".
Gerrard has had his go at Finals level, and every time, he's come up short.
Likewise Lampard, Terry, Cole, yet these are among the first names on the teamsheet.
Rooney, fantastic success at Euro 04, but, since then, his GOOD (not even fantastic) performances for England (EIGHT YEARS ON), can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
REVOLUTIONARY IDEA
Let's go with non of the "old-guard" (Lamps, Wayne, Stevie G, Ash etc) to Euro 12.
Let's take a chance with Oxo-Chamberpot, Sturridge, etc, with say someone like Hodgson as a caretaker, and see what happens.
It can't be any worse than what we've got now, can it?

| I think if you're considering Hart world class, you'd probably have to put Rooney in there, even if he doesn't do it for England. Hart's in the top 20 goalkeepers in the world, and you could probably argue Rooney's in or around the top 20 strikers in the world, given there are far more strikers than goalkeepers, it's only fair to put Rooney in that bracket.
Me personally, English football (and players) has slightly dropped during the past couple of years. With players like Lampard, Gerrard, Cole and Ferdinand aging/declining, there hasn't really been any young English players stepping up to their kind of level. Wilshere probably will, Sturridge, Chamberlain and Jones will probably be there soon, but for now, I don't think there are any English players who I look at and instantly think "I'd pick him in my top 30 players in the world". Sure, I'd pick the likes of Silva, RvP and Suarez, but no English players.

| People can say what they like about Harry, fact is he has done a great job with Spurs in the last few years. As it is we seem to be left with Pearce for the Euros which will be a disaster. He has already said he isn't up to the job long term so why does he think he can do it through a major championship? He's awful and no PL club would even touch him.

| The clamour for Redknapp has been so loud that no self respecting manager would consider putting themselves forward for the job.
At least if Redknapp does get the job it will be possible to pinpoint the exact moment when he loses the support of the press, when one of them dares to ask him the question "How do we know you're telling us the truth?"

| On the whole England situation...why not appoint the best person for the job? Regardless of what they have or haven't won or whether or not the media love him or whether they are English or not.
IMO, Redknapp has got the right pedigree for the job, so say his chums (media) anyway.

Please fill us all in on Harry's pedigree to manage England.
I mean, he's had to deal with the Collosi at Southampton and Portsmouth, hasn't he.
He's won ONE pot in his managerial career (30 years), he's had ONE job at a club of decent repute, so please inform us of Twitcher's pedigree. The only pedigree Harry's got, is CHUM, for that dog of his, that's got a large bank account

| Why is Robbie Savage a pundit? Do the BBC have him just for the ''shock/big mouth'' factor, or just because he was on Strictly and they now need to put him on anything just like they did with Chris Friggin Hollins

| They just showed the pen incident again because of the long injury delay for Arteta. Their shins clearly came together. The way that Suarez was running he would have had to fight hard to stay on his feet, but why in hell should he do that? it's the kepper who has tripped him and a pen is the correct decision. I don't think it should have been a red card for the keeper, but it was much closer to a red card than it was to a non pen.

| Ridiculous result at Anfield. No doubt Wenger will be putting it all down to their resolve and belief, but in truth they have robbed the win when they should have been well beaten.
