In terms of quality and potential enjoyment, Football Manager is much better. Fifa manager is more enjoyable if you don't fancy something too serious and also don't go on the computer a lot. Football Manager is probably the one worth buying out the two. But if you already have Football Manager and have a bit of spare money, then Fifa Manager is worth buying. Not played on the 2009 version of either though so just comparing the 2008 versions

Next season (2011/2012) has just finished and believe it or not, i managed to win everything. League cup, followed by Premier league (with 2 games to spare), champions league and then beat Arsenal on penalties in the final of the Fa cup. Had the perfect season really, and can't quiet believe i've won everything. Now that i've done everything with Man City, might look for more of a challenge and leave in the next season or so. Also, got offered the England job half way through the season and qualified for Euro 2012 easily enough, and about to start that. I'm 18/1 to win it, although i am ranked 3rd in the world, big odds.

Unless you improve your club stature and become a bigger name (win trophies etc), then you can only sign a limited quality of player anyway.

Thought that so I'm going to go with Reading instead. Looking to sign a LB and CM. Got a reasonable £5million to spend.

Razvan Rat is a great LB for about £3m.

Decided to go for a career with Reading. Looking for promotion and to keep best players.

Also got one on the go with Wigan.

Just about to start my 3rd season with Barca, won the league comfortably in my first 2 seasons but lost 2 CL semi finals on away goals and one Spanish cup final on pens.

Anyone know how, on a mac, to minimize FM and return to the desktop, like how you would on a PC by pressing the start key? I have one of the new macbooks, if that makes a difference.

Make sure you keep a hold on Kevin Doyle. Just signed him for Everton as a replacement for Yakubu, and he's scoring plenty.

Don't worry he's going nowhere. Doyle and Lita have formed a formidable partnership in pre-season.

Still having a nightmare with Northwich Victoria. mid way through my 2nd season. First season i stayed up by 1 point, ive strengthened like mad and have Dean Windass spearheading my attack in the conference but still in the relegation spots.

They truly are terrible!!

I might start at a Blue Square North/South team. I had a decent record with them on '08.

Sutton United - Won in the play-off final against Welling and left to join Carlisle United.

Leigh - After a lot of new players came in I managed to scrape into the play-offs thanks to a late,late goal by Fabian Delph (on loan from Leeds) and won on penalties in the semi against Harrogate before losing to Hyde in the final in Extra Time. In my 2nd season we started like a house on fire winning 11 out of the first 12 before I was "head-hunted" for the Rushden & Diamonds job.

I played as Fleetwood. You can get Blinkhorn on loan from blackpool and he bangs em in for fun

I signed him when he was only 17. He's ok for me, does a decent job, just very inconsistent. One game he will get man of the match, next game he struggles to get a rating of 6. Although, he does have very strong compeition from Matias Fernandez and Diego Buonattoe (or how ever you spell it), so he doesn't really get a shed load of games, but hes alright.

Its too easy being United. Any formation wins everything.
