United's funding streams don't rely on a few supporters refusing to turn up to games. '"
But I'm not talking about a *few* supporters refusing to turn up for games. I'm talking about 30,000+, for a few matches at least.
Quote As for the individual TV deals, the amount of money that could be money made from attendances would be infinitesimal. '"
And if that is the case, then the United fans whining about their debts are obviously wrong, because the extra income they will bring in in the future will easily cover their debts.
Quote United are simply reaping what they had sown,. If you are on teh stock market, then you are fair game. When it was being used to raise money, they didn't whinge then. '"
I agree totally. I've said it before, many times.
Quote The protests will fail as United fans have no power and no clue. '"
They obviously have power. It's only a question of whether enough of them can be persuaded to use the power.
Quote As for my club, I couldn't be happier. We beat a club that is fading faster than a t-shirt bought from Gorton Market. BTW thanks for the 'double'.'"
Top of the league, still in the Champions League, still in the FA Cup. All you've got to play for is qualifying for the CL and you don't even think you can do that.

Will the Glazers care? They will still get the mathday income they expect. ST holders have paid for the game in advance, and those who don't turn up will be replaced by tourists or actual propoer fans who are from Trafford MBC.

Indeed. But they are being naive. I will be amazed if within 5 years, clubs are not negotiating their own individual deals.

As gutted as I am to say this, United will win the league. Even though they are not playing that well, they look, IMO, stronger and more robust than Chelsea at the moment.

As you are probably aware a campaign was recently started (Green and Gold) to try and rid our club of the Glazer ownership. This campaign has taken a significant turn this week with the news that a group of independent businessmen, and more importantly United fans are considering a bid for the club.
MUST (Manchester United Supporters Group) are involved in this campaign and this is where we come in. We as fans need to push membership up as high as possible, 100,000 being the initial target. Membership is free and it will hopefully go towards helping the cause. You can join at the link below.

Mods, can we keep this away from the football chat as it is solely about one club and not really football related, thanks.

No. This isn't a Manchester United forum and this whole matter is being discussed in this thread as it is.

I'd have them as slight favourites. But I don't think either us or MU are strong enough to win the title off our own backs. I think we'll both be relying on not dropping as many points as the other.
I also think the CL could also play a part. I'd say MU are 70% likely to go through to the next round, we're about 40%. If we go out of the CL at this stage that could be beneficial to our league campaign.

In previous seasons it was the strength of the title winning sides that earned them the league. This season I don't think it will be the strength of Chelsea or Man Utd that decides the title, it will be the weakness of the loser which determines who wins the league.
It could even be that Arsenal nick the title. Now, personally I don't think they have a chance. They've been okay when they've been written off, but I think as soon as they feel the real pressure of a title run in they'll buckle.
But if Arsenal did win the league, it certainly wouldn't be Arsenal's strength which won the league, would it? It'd be the a title won because MU have suffered from losing Ronaldo and Tevez and Chelsea's failure to take the league when in a position to do so. The results between Arsenal and the other two show pretty clearly that this Arsenal certainly isn't a strong side. But right now they're 3 points behind the leaders with a easier run in, on paper.

Guessing, but European sides won't travel to Brazil to play them. So Brazil have to play games in Europe and London has good transport links with Brazil and the rest of Europe.
Arsenal have a new stadium that they have to pay for, and having Brazil use the ground as their European base is good for Brazil and good for Arsenal.
Don't know how many Europe-based players Brazil have, but that may be an issue too.

| Quote ="Martin Samuel"Bellamy left it vague but made his point. He presumed to speak for the whole of football, which was cheeky, but successfully conveyed the impression that Terry was a rotter, and not to be trusted, even as a team-mate. And, overnight, Bellamy was a hero.
That's right, Craig Bellamy. Mr Loyalty. Mr Team Spirit. The bloke who threw a chair at Newcastle United's first team coach, John Carver, during an argument at Newcastle airport; who sent abusive text messages to Alan Shearer after Newcastle had been knocked out of the FA Cup at the semi-final stage by Manchester United (Bellamy was on loan at Celtic at the time); who was accused of threatening to feign injury before a match against Arsenal by manager Graeme Souness; who took a swing with a golf club at his Liverpool team-mate John Arne Riise because he would not join a karaoke session. This is a guy who feels empowered to judge Terry.'"

| I don't get the point behind protesting when it comes to Man Utd. This isn't a dig at anyone personally or the fact that you are trying to do something etc i just think it's all pointless with such a big 'fan'base.
At the end of the day, with Man Utd in the battle for their 4th successive (?) championship/the one that will overtake Liverpool and a CL semi on the horizon, Old Trafford is never going to have an attendance less than 65,000, if that, really. The local chumps in the streets in the country will still but their shirt from JJB and watch MOTD on a saturday night etc. All the people being interviewed on SSN saying stuff against the Glazers are outside the stadium having probably just been in the club shop. Even all the people with the green and yellow stuff are still going to games. I genuinly fail to see at what point Glazer will even begin to care less about people opinions. He'll surly only sell when he wants, gets bored, or get a silly offer he can't refuse (which, if one of these offers is from individual Man Utd fans together then fair play to you). He's already seen his 'body double' burnt on a bonfire etc, i think he's past the point of not knowing a lot of people hate him so words and media coverage doesn't help the situation in that respect. The only way he's going to go is if he gets A LOT of money from one person/an organisation, so whatever 99% Man Utd fans do, it's going to have sod all to do with them. The most annoying part is that if Glazer sells, all Man Utd fans are going to claim it as a 'victory' for themselves and a 'well done for sticking together' but that just isnt the case, is it?
All this hysterica about 'by 2017 Man Utd will be in the championship and be on the brink' is tosh isn't it really. Whoever owns Man Utd, that club will still have 50% of the footballing supporting nation 'supporting' them, they'll always be a top 4 team, and they'll always get crowds of over 65,000, and they'll alway be run by 3-4 individuals, however 'in touch' with the fans they claim to be.
That genuinley isnt a dig at the Man Utd fans (the real ones), the club, potential owners or anyone who may take offence. It's just the way it is. It's Man Utd, the world most famous football team, what's the worse that can happen?

Its because United fans are idiots. They read some tosh spouted by an armchair accountant on a united fan website and suddenly they think they know how to run a football club. The Red Knights..LOL. I mean, come on!! United fans are deluded into thinking a load of fans with £20m a pop will save their club. It would cause more problems than the Glazers ever have, but the fans are just too dumb to see it.
