| At first glance of the new Man Utd shirt I thought their new sponsor was Bodyform
As strange as this sounds I think the Brazilians will grind a result out against Germany tonight.

| Up to the first goal Brazil were shading it. Germany were breaking extremely well though.
Germany's first goal was just utterly dreadful marking at a corner and a nice finish. Brazil have been a defensive shambles ever since.
I wanted Brazil to win, but man this collapse is really funny.

| I think the fact that Germany have absolutely demolished Brazil might have put the brakes on any rioting TBH.
I think if this happened early in the tournament then the protests could have ruined the World Cup. But Brazil actually doing so well by actually reaching the semi, and then collapsing so spectacularly could be one of the few things that means the massive riots don't happen.
If they'd gone out in a close game it might have been worse.
I think Brazil might go into mourning rather than rioting mode.

| We all knew this brazil team was a big barrell of camel p*ss. Great to see it exposed so ruthlessly on the biggest stage.
David luiz was made to look like coco the clown. He was as much use to brazils defence as a lump of sh*t.
Germany have been threatening something like this for years. They thrashed argentina and us in the last world cup. They've made the semi's of the last 4 major tournaments. This is their moment, the culmination of that work coming toegther perfectly all at once.

Must admit I thought he must have died between the build up and the anthems.
As Chris Waddle said they would have been the worst team to win a world cup, so its cheering to see them dumped out like that.
Heard the 5 Live game commentary highlights on the way in to work this morning, the summariser saying at 0-4, "if we were giving marks out of 10, Fernandinho would only get 1 for putting his shirt on the right way round" was a real moment

We might be crap but I don't get this supporting Brazil business anyway.
I'm getting enjoyment from seeing the team that "neutrals" wanted to win having their backsides handed to them on a silver salver on a velvet cushion in their own back yard.
"I want them to win because its Brazil and, well, Pele, Ronaldo, samba, Copacabana, beautiful football, just give them the trophy blah blah blah". People have this rose-tinted view of Brazil based on the 1970 team, the 1982 team (even thought they didn't win) and a number of outstanding, legendary players, but the current team is absolute garbage and taking two players out showed exactly that they've been lucky this tournament, up to last night

Its been terrible World Cup for most of City's players. Either not making the squad, in the squad but not picked, injured, out of form, missing crucial chances, making crucial mistakes or playing in crap teams.
I feel a treble at the very least should be on for next season.

Well it was on last season but you soiled the bed against Wigan.
I'd prefer all the CFC players to save all their medals for us anyway. It's alright having players come back with World Cup winners medals, but ultimately who cares what they win with their national teams? Torres won a World Cup and European Championship but he's still been worthless to us.
Just don't want Holland winning it. The press are already on their knees to him because of his genius in beating Costa Rica on pens. God knows what they're going to be like if he wins the World Cup.

| Even funnier about this Brazil humiliation is that it has totally exposed Scolari has the hopeless coach he really is.
His man-management skills have been awful, and even more so, his handling of the inevitable pressure to win on his side, which has been terrible.
It was obvious that being the host nation, great things would be expected of the Brazil side from the Brazillian public, winning the trophy was demanded. From the first game however, it was obvious to most observers that this Brazil side was average, very average.
Scolari, who had been vocal in his own expectation of the side, should surely have seen the warning signs and actually begun to downplay Brazil's chances. Instead, he did the opposite, despite the remaining group games being similarly uninspiring.
By the time of the knockout games Brazil were a ticking timebomb. Their emotions were all over the place, just witness the laughably OTT national anthems before all their matches, and again, despite being awful against both Chile and Colombia, Scolari just continued to build the pressure on his team up.
Last night was almost inevitable - Yes, maybe the scoreline was a tad bizarre, but the manner in which they collapsed was something which was always on the cards, simply because the Brazillian public, aided by Scolari's inability to keep things calm, were almost brainwashed into believing they were going to win, and their expectation transferred to the players, who simply couldn't cope.

| David Luiz put in perhaps the worst performance i have ever seen from a professional in any field in the history of time on earth.
This defeat will leave an imprint on brazils psyche as a football nation so devastating they'll not win another world cup in our lifetimes.
Germany have exterminated them.

He said he was distraught at the end.
But he should have been happy. To have that rabble of donkey spunk go any further in the tournament than they already had would have been an insult to the great brazilian teams from the past that he so adored.
And if brazil are to return to their former glory anytime soon, then this defeat will surely provide the drive and impetus for them to make it happen.

| Thank god for Germany. Some people are so obsessed with individuals like Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo and even some England players, pundits and fans who ridiculously call Rooney a "world beater" that they forget that this is a TEAM game.
Did Costa Rica, Algeria or USA have great individuals, no but they put in strong showings due to playing like a team.....Belgium was a team full of good players but looked like strangers and were a tad lucky to get to the quarters. England were obsessed with getting Gerrard and Rooney in the team because of their individual abilities that they ignored that they didn't fit into the side and we made sacrifices just for their selection. It's only going to be more of the same as people are already getting excited about Ross Barkley being "the one" to take on the world. It's this issue what I call the "Gazza effect" that is England's main problem, an obsession of individuals instead of a team that works and fits together.
Last night was a victory for team football, not this idolising one player and BTW he has 10 guys clinging to his coat tails.
Brazil can count themselves lucky on 2 points.
1 - that it wasn't Argentina who hammered them because that would've been too much for their public to recover from.
2 - that Germany took the foot off the gas after 30 mins (yet still looked pretty good). Had they kept the foot down they could've got 10.
The worst thing is that when the game started you could clearly see what could happen if Brazil didn't score first. After the first one went in and Brazil didn't tighten up then I remember thinking around the 20 mins mark that this could end up about 4/5-0 if they aren't careful as the Germans are going to pick them apart. It turned out to be even worst than that.
I've seen teams get ripped apart before in a single half of football and seen teams concede 4 goals over a 20/30 mins period, but I've never seen a team concede 4 in 6 minutes. I'd be shocked even if a conference team did that against a Man City or Chelsea in the cup, that players at International level in WC semi 'achieved' that is disgraceful. I know a lot have gone about how the. Brazil team isn't that good once you scratch beneath the surface and whilst that is true.....it still should never have conceded 4 goals in 6 minutes. No team should.

| Very puzzling what the Netherlands did in the penalty shoot-out.
Deserved what they got in my view.
Penalty takers only may apply in my opinion.
It's not the time to be letting your centre half take the first peno, well has he played.
And the goalie switch worked previously and he didn't do it, instead choosing a goalie who has never saved one.
Weird.

I'm sure he probably would've wanted to change the goalie but it's a tough ask to try and go through 120 minutes (for the 2nd time in several days) and only use two subs and saving one back.
Think people thought Van Gaal saw Krul as some sort of penalty specialist.....might've actually been that he saw Cillessen as a poor penalty stopper. He should've got the 3rd and 4th ones and I think it's being extremely kind for people to say his confidence was knocked from being subbed last time. His pro career record now is 17 penalties faced, none saved, that's pretty dire.
