Why is the Crouch situation relevant to the Johnson fee? Will they not pay pay you for Crouch unless you buy Johnson?

No but they didnt pay the money all in one go for Crouch therefore they owe us money so by buying a player off them it would make sense instead of them paying us more we would pay say 3 - 4mil less on the deal and call it quits on the Crouch future payments.

I think the Crouch fee would have been paid over the next two seasons, so instead of us having to wait to get that, we've cleared that off and given Pompey the rest for Johnson. If that money is coming straight out of this year's net budget, then it's only £10m net, I'm guessing.

As for your point Mark. I can't be bothered getting into the whole money and how much has been spent debate, there's so much that has to be taken into consideration. But Johnson is good and has potential to get better, it may seem inflated but when the top sides want to sign English players, they always have to pay more.

Interesting read only one more signing to come in is how I read it going to be interesting to see who Chelsea and Man U buy mostly Man U due to there team already weaker than last seasons - Ronaldo and Tevez.

Leto, Voronon and Dossena will probably leave. Depending on the position our next signing is, I wouldn't mind seeing Babel leave.

If, and it's an increasingly unlikely if, we sign David Silva, then I wouldn't mind seeing Babel leave, but if we don't then it has to be his last season. If Rafa decides he can be Torres' back up, then I might be happier to see him stay and have one last shot at making it with us.

Depending on who they sell would depend on who they sign. They need two left backs because I don't rate Abidal. Filipe and Maxwell would both be top additions. I'm not sure why they're linked with the two centre halves, Marquez, Puyol, Pique and Caceres seem more than enough. Srna I wouldn't sign because I feel if he moves to a top European side, he'd be better off used as a right winger.

Mascherano and de Rossi aren't needed unless they lose Toure, which I don't think they will. Robinho or Mata would be top additions, I'd probably go for the cheaper Mata. Villa over Forlan easily, but only if Eto'o doesn't sign.
