I was laughing at Villa. Especially after one of the commentators/pundits claimed it to be a blessing in disguise. Yeah, any excuse for getting beat.

So, what he's proposing is in effect a salary cap based on football related turnover and some sort of financial probity test before being allowed to compete - remind you of any other sports?

What's wrong with what he's said? Seems reasonable to me and could affect any club in any debt. Unless, of course, it's now acceptable for clubs to throw money at success, money they can't afford to lose or money obtained from a backer who could pull out at any given moment if things don't quite go to his plan.

I do think it's ironic, though, that United and Chelsea have backed the plans seeing as they'd both be knackered if they ever took any real hold.

On a semi-related note, the Glazers have had their financial advisors over from New York in the past week. They've been looking at options for both re-financing the debt and selling the club on, maybe not imminently, but at some point in the not-too-distant future. Strange, considering the club's apparently on such a sound footing according to the OT Spin Machine...

Not so strange. The Glazers probably get their advisors to review all of their investments annually. They will always on the look out for a buyer who is prepared to pay more than what they think the club is worth.

The whole "he done it because he's scared of injury" is , for me.

If he was scared of injury, he would never go in for the challenge, he would never have celebrated the penalty and he would never have stepped up to take it. If there was any contact, it had no effect on the decision.

There have been worse dives than that of Eduardo's but they don't seem to have stirred the same reaction as this one.

I'm very, very pleased that he hasn't gone to United. Think Real should have kept him though. Having Ronaldo and Robben on the wings would have been magnificent to watch.
