If I took life seriously, I would not engage someone like you in a conversation. The fact that you take everything I say seriously, says a lot more about you than it does me.
Let's not talk about kids on here. It may encourage Mark to have one.
As for your reference, and 'too easy' word play on teh name Cook, can you honestly state why Marwood and C, especially, deserves the contempt you aimed at him. You don't have to answer, I am not that bothered what you have to say.

| Quote ="D.D."More or less everything that I wanted to say on the Tevez issue has been covered by others so I'll just comment on this excpet to say that if Tevez can just see his way to staying till the end of the season, I'd take that. Get us in the top four and he can bugger off.
City play a slow, possession based football, one that suits fluid movement in the forward three. Tevez was almost perfect for the way we play the game. Edin Dzeko is a target man, a big lad who gets on the end of crosses and set pieces. Whilst Kolarov may finally offer us some service in that department, one thing is for sure, we are not going to compromise our style of football just because we have a target man.
I just don't think Dzeko will fit into our style one bit. He'd be a smash hit at Everton. He'll end up being a Steve Daley at our gaff.'"
Hope that wasn’t a dig at Kolarov, DD. The lad is expected to cross the ball but what can he do when, for the majority of the season, only Tevez has been in the box.
Reading the posts of the one or two people who appear to know what’s going on at City, Dzeko is not a replacement for Tevez. The aim was to bring him in regardless, thus giving us more attacking options.
I’d also take Tevez until the end of the season. No doubt. With our lack of success, I am sure we could swallow our pride for a few months.
Did you notice that Tevez did not criticise Mancini in his press release even though it is obvious that he has issues with the Italian? It may be that he, or should I say Joorabchian, are either targeting Cook (as suggested by LGJM) or maybe Tevez wants to stay and knows that criticising Mancini would make his position untenable.
I think you are unfair on Dzeko. I think he is overrated but he is good on the floor. Not in a Peter Crouch kind of way (“Good touch for a big man..”) but he actually has a bit of pace and intelligence.
Quote ="Cibaman"Our problem is that we will need at least a couple of new strikers. Santa Cruz and Adebayor clearly do not fit in Mancini's plans and are likely to leave. I'm not sure whether we could recall Bellamy but even if we could I think that would be a big mistake.
Balotelli is an immense talent, but I think he's on a par with Ronaldo circa 2004/5, not someone who at this stage in his career can be relied on week in week out.
Dzeko seems to be a must and, although he isnt in Tevez's class, would possibly better suit the shape of the team. A mega bid for Torres also would seem probable.
Its a major blow this happening mid season but the vastly improved form of Silva and Yaya Toure means that its not quite the disaster that it would have been not many weeks ago.'"
I completely agree with all of that.
All I will add is the reply to DDs post re Dzeko not being a replacement for Tevez.

Actually made me chuckle. Funniest thing you've ever posted. Finally a sense of humour. I wonder if City fans will still imply that Tevez "hates munichs". I think your team will become more balanced if Tevez fcks off. Get Balotelli and Silva either side of a target man and straight away you have more balance to the team. The irony is that I bet alot of City fan's were ing themselves when Rooney wanted out.

Cannot agree. Tevez fits perfectly into our system. Movement and ability to keep the ball and carry it are key. Tevez excels in these areas. An alternative would Aguero. Overrated but he has a skillset that would allow him to fit into our formation quite nicely.

Of course, we were. Just as United fans were laughing at us for having no money. The rolesd tend to get reversed. What is important is that you enjoy the misfortunes of your rivals before they overcome their problems.

Not really. Your demeanour on here is of someone who receives tragic news on an hourly basis. You can't be all grumpy and cross all the time and then wonder when people take you the 'wrong way'. Lighten up.
And as for the 'too easy' word play on Cook; again, let's not forget you're the chap who insisted on calling Wayne Rooney 'Blooney' the other week. I could offer lots of reasons why I think Gary Cook is a nob but as you're not interested I'll keep it to one - I thought his dismissal of AC Milan in respect of the Kaka transfer was crass and showed a lack of understanding of a) Football and b) Manchester City football club.

| Well done to the new owners for getting rid of Allardyce. When they took over they said they wanted us to play good football so the writing was on the wall from the start. The final straw must have been yesterday starting 6 defenders against the local rivals then failing to bring a second forward on when Bolton had a man sent off. It's a big risk getting rid of him but I for one am looking forward to watching the ball played on the floor more from now on.

The new owners have stated they want us to play 'pretty' football to build the club up in India where most people interested in football are Man United fans so someone who likes to play the ball on the ground.I personally would like them to go for Holloway much like Bolton did last year getting Coyle from Burnley but I doubt he's the kind of person that would walk out on Blackpool. If not him Martin Jol is looking for a job since leaving Ajax last week.

Why not,any style of football is better than the dross served up by Allardyce's teams in the last 2 years. There are a lot of managers out there that would love to take over a premiership team where the owners have stated they will give him money to spend in january.

Martin Jol has been installed as favourite for the job that'd be a great appointment imo.

Not a dig at all. I am saying that we haven't had anyone who is decent at taking set pieces for years. Kolarov is allegedly good at this but we haven't seen any evidence of it yet.

I'm pretty sure Tevez does not want to stay. It does seem to be tactical but I can't get my head round what they are trying to achieve.

He's not fluid enough to fit in our system. You see it when Adebayor or Santa Cruz play the front man out of the three that it's the way Tevez pulls the defenders apart and creates space for the others that makes the difference. Dzeko is not mobile enough to fit the bill if we are going to stick with the formation we have and the one that the manager likes.

He probably isn't. To be honest, there aren't many out there that have the combination of height, strength, pace, agility and the ability to run the channels. Off the top of my head, I could name Torres and Drogba, with a few other strikers having a few of those attributes, but maybe not all.
However, Dzeko is a class striker, whilst he could well become one of the best, problem with him is you need either a superb supporting midfielder, or a superb strike partner to go with him. I've always felt if Silva scored more, he'd be as good as Kaka and the like. I still think it, but I'm unsure if Dzeko is the type of player Silva would link well with. If Mancini could get him working harder, I'd seriously consider Benzema.

I've listened to a few pundits say how shocked they are since the news came out but they don't watch us for 90 minutes week in week out,the football he plays may get a team in mid table security but after a while you just want something more when you spend 30+ quid to watch the team.In over 20 years as a Rovers fan i've never been as bored as I have the last 2 years since he's been manager. It's been torture for me to watch us and can't have been much better for the fans of other teams watching us when we've been on tv.
Rovers fans are not asking for us to play like Barcelona or Arsenal all the time but I'm sick of going into every game overloaded with defensive players hoping for a set piece goal to get us a win. What I would like the new manager to do when he starts is to play 2 up front at least at home games, move Jones back to his natural position of CB next to Samba and lets play the ball out from the back instead of using Robinsons big boot all the time to set up our attacks.
In the end this could be a big mistake by the new owners if the new manager doesn't work out but sometimes you have to take a risk in the hope that better times are ahead.

| I've seen Man United play a handful of times this season and their performance hasn't been anything above mediocre on any occasion yet, as well as being unbeaten, they'll more than likely be 5 points clear after their game in hand.

I thought the quality tonight was really poor, I can't remember seeing a United/Arsenal game with so many misplaced passes and it is one of the few Premier League games I make a point of watching.
Even playing like this I can see United strolling to the title if Chelsea don't get their act together starting on Sunday.
