I'd be surprised if any United fans would want Liverpool to win the league rather than Chelsea.

Draw would be the best result but we are never going to challenge this season I said that after the Villa match so Chelsea are there main rivals.

You know, I don't think it's that much weaker. Aquilani IMO will bring just as much offensively as Alonso did, if not more potentially, the problem is the acceptance of the absolutely dire squad players still here.
Degen, Lucas, Plessis, Voronin and I would even say Babel, although he has shown an ounce of promise recently.
I'm not sure if he could have got better if he sold, who knows? But he signed Aquilani knowing Lucas would have to play more, IMO, a poor decision. Lucas just isn't in the same league as his teammates and it shows in the bigger games.

Riera has gone missing. He's starting to look like the player who used to mope around the pitch for City and Espanyol.

He's a confidence player and he was much like this last season. Superb two games a month, average two games a month. IMO, we must be regretting not signing a left winger, Babel is apparently our second choice lefty but it's obvious he has f*ck all to offer there. Our left side has been a problem for years and I was crazy over us signing Silva, simply because Riera isn't good enough to consistently play first choice, he needed a lesser role in the side to force him to perform more consistently and earn his spot.

maybe a club of Liverpool's stature in the english game and the premiership could attract a player from maybe a top 6 side maybe bring in Ashley Young or Arron Lennon surely these types of player maybe worth a chance at a top 4 club.

i doubt that Villa or Spurs would be charging anything more than 20 million for either of these players and Liverpool Payed around that to Bring Aqulanni in.

The Aquilani deal was a complicated one. Roma put the details of the deal on their site and a lot of it is in payments over X amount of time relying on success in certain competitions. Google it somewhere, I'm sure you'll find it.
The thing is, Lennon and Young probably aren't worth £20m. Silva could be bought for a bit more and he's a better player who'd suit us to a tee. I don't think Spurs or Villa are in any position where they need to sell, so they'd be able to force the price right up if ever a deal were to happen. I'd say they'd try and push it above £20m, especially Villa.

well maybe but you never know how players will dela with aclimatising to the premier league- players have come over hear and have just gone down hill for example Robinho hasnt really taken off for City like people thought he would.
i just think that if the risk is there to bring a foreign player in when noone knows if they will settle into premier league football.
whereas you have Young and Lennon who might not be as good but could be made better in a Top 4 club with better players. plus they already have premier league experiance.
