Australia's session now I reckon. We have two new batsmen in now with no one set, as usual KP will have to shoulder the burden of getting the runs.

They have been working away at softening Collingwood and he took it on toeing 1 that if would of come off the middle he was in trouble. JUst need to settle down these 1st few overs after lunch block a few overs out if your Collingwood let Pieterson take it to them hes never going to change and you dont want him to try too he could take the game back away from the Aussies going to be a real hard day now going to have to be determined and apply ourselves at the crease

Great catch to take Cook, Strauss was outmanouevered Bopara looked like he was just settling down when he got out but he was a wicket waiting to happen with some of his shots.

Pietersen and Collingwood have to stick around for a while now to pull this our way a bit.

Flintoff will have a big role in this innings now hopefully we dont see him today but hes just coming back and hes batting is always wobbly you just know though he is capable of a awesome innings we really need one today. Thought Hilfenaus and Siddle were very good this session and Johnson seemed to be finding hes rythm towards lunch going to be a real hard afternoon session now

2 men woefully out of form at the crease to be followed by another shortly after who hasn't batted well in a test match for 4 years...I'm worried...a lot rests on how many KP, Colly and Flintoff can muddle together.

And as for Mitchell Johnson...the sign of a good player is still pulling things out when you're not playing well isn't it?? End of that conversation.

And as a previous poster asked, yep, im watching it online on sky player but its quite jittery (a bit like ravi bopara) and keeps re-buffering itself which is quite annoying...i presume its down ot the number of people using it.

Listening to TMS and they reckon its the dort of pitch where the ball never really comes on to the bat and patience is the order of the day. The pitch is only going to get worse so we need to try and get the runs in the first inngs.

Glamorgan have not played many Championship games this season at Cardiff but par score is probably about 300 for that level....if England can make 350+ then I would rate that a great effort and would give the bowlers a good chance of establishing a decent first innings lead.

Good session for England, 100 runs without a wicket lost. Kick on from here with 350 being the minimum expectation IMO.

Next 20 overs before the second new ball is the time to capitalise and work the bowling around.

I called 350 earlier but think there are runs to be had and 400 is more the aim now...but I guess the real bonus would be to get through the final session without damage and be starting tomorrow with 7 wickets still in tact.

It was important to get through that session without losing any wickets, good work from Collingwood and Pietersen, let's hope they can make them suffer a bit before facing the new ball this evening.

very good session Pieterson delivers again for us. Collingwood deserves praise nopt been in the best of form but still battled through and kept going just need them to keep going another 30 overs and we will be in a good posistion then

KP is playing very unKPlike, he must have been tempted to smash Hauritz but did well to resist, today is not the day for losing a daft wicket trying to slog the spinner out of the ground.

He has took the responsibilty on himself to be the person who stays there and not give hes wicket away. Hes doing a great job of it get us anopther 100 runs then i would love too see him take it to them
