| Well done to Laura Robson, beat the top seed and made the final. Hope she can convert her junior success into the pro game.

| 5th seed Robson will meet Russian 3rd seed Ksenia Pervak in Saturday's final, due on at 2am.
Should she win that match, Robson will become the junior world number one.

| Nadal is finding it tough against an inspired Verdasco. 3 hours in and they haven't finished 3 sets yet. Federer must be laughing into his iced drink.

Amazing match, if Verdasco can keep this up and keep his nerve he has every chance.

And despite being only 15 will have her picture plastered over the tabloids with all sorts of salaciousness masquerading as innocent comments.
Well done to her by the way. We may soon have two Brits challenging for honours in the main game.

Indeed. Greg Rusedski's comeback can only be good for British tennis.

| Great match, Nadal never gives in and perhaps Verasco did buckle towards the end. I have no idea who's going to win the final. it could be a great match.
Can of worms time, 5 and a half hours of entertainment there, i dont know how long the womans semi final lasted, but those matches can be over in 50 mins....... higher TV ratings for the mens game, you know what i'm getting at........

True, but what happens if the mens final is a blow out? I've seen mens games last not longer than an hour, and women's games last well over twice that long.
Also, it's not that long ago that the womens final, certainly at the U.S Open when it was the Williams brothers playing, were higher than the mens.
From my own point of view, I think the tennis on offer in the mens game is better, (despite some of the women being better to watch!) but it's not as black and white as some people make out.

Wonder if they've any plans for that, now they've got the roof?
My guess would be not, seeing as you get long daylight hours in England in June/July, and it may effect the grass if it's closed for long periods of time. We've seen that from a rugby perspective at the Magic Weekend.
Sad really, as I agree it would make a better spectacle.

So she was born in Australia, but I think she only lived there for a matter of minutes, and her talent was honed in Blighty using our excellent infrastructure and facilities.

I suppose either way....there is still a hell of a lot of money to be won in Tennis, so i dont suppose they lose to much sleep over it anyway, and you could argue that the ranking points you need to get to the slams are earned on the basis of events which only last 3 sets anyway (mens and womens)

A match too far for Robson, as she loses in two. The other British girl, Heather Watson, took more games off of Pervak earlier. Having said that, the juniors have been playing in some horrendous temperatures, and daily rather than every other day.
Back to cheering for adults again now.

| Slam number 6 for Rafa.
Great game in the first four sets, Federer just lost it big style in set 5 though, fekk knows what happened there.

| How many times in a row is that for Nadal over Federer?
Can Rafa win the grand slam now?
Will Federer ever eclipse Pistol Pete? Maybe more pertinently, will Rafa?
Without a shadow of a doubt now Rafa is a clear world number one...awesome!!
