| This has always been the time of year Leeds needed to pick up some win, while other clubs are having players withdrawn by the national sides.
In previous years they haven't managed to do it, but this year it could be enough to keep them up.
Watched the Sale game yesterday and Hodgson apart they are woefully short of ideas.

The expert on Radio Manchester was of the opinion that should they go down they might never come back up. He predicted crowds would drop off significantly and that the gulf between the top two divisions in union in terms of attendances, sponsorship, television etc. would mean that Sale would have to have a major restructure.

| 3 out of the bottom 4 are the northern clubs. It wont be long before they expand the division & do away with relegtation to avoid them all slipping in to oblivion. What next - paying tax?

It's even harder to get back up because the top 8 go in a play-off to get promoted.
Bristol are around 50 points clear of 8th place, but still might not go up.

The result of a dodgy pact to play "running rugby" (ie. an agreement not to tackle each other) in a desperate attempt to get people to come back and watch it...
Transparent. Utterly transparent.

So how come the super 14 average attendences are far superior to the NRL's?

This article was written by a yawnion apologist
[urlhttp://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/keep-this-up-and-the-fans-will-return-20100312-q4dp.html[/url
The opening paragraph says it all
Quote The crowd did not come, but at least the tries and points did. So while the NSW Rugby Union bean-counters will have another restless night, knowing that a miserly 16,878 home crowd will affect the bank balance, at least the Waratahs players will be relieved their dwindling spectator base is no longer on their backs for supposedly being boring.'"
A single Sydney NRL game beats that and there is rather more than NRL club for Sydney. You are clearly talking out of your rear end. "Super" 14 attendance and viewing figures are sliding rapidly backwards in Aus and NZ and now the NRL season has started the contrast will be even more dramatic.

Yeah they must be.
You said so and you follow the rah rah.
All of "18,000" (read 10,000) last night for the Waraturds.

Over 6 thousand more in 2008.
Rugby league, Australias number 1 sport if you take away Rugby and AFL
'"
Don't you just love morons who quote figures that prove themselves wrong.
Last time I did maths 3 million was a lot bigger than 2 million. And you are including South African attendance.
As New Zealand has an NRL team I'll let you boost "super" 14s dismal figures with the NZ crowds though just to save your total humiliation.
On top of that yawnion has no free to air TV in Australia due to a complete lack of interest.
Yawnion has slipped behind soccer and is a fading fourth amongst the football codes.

| An incredibly poor 9-6 at the break in Scots poshos versus the public school boys.
I recommend anyone watching on Sky to activiate the red button option, and change the audio to CBBC, where the current 'Gordon The Gopher' is doing joint comentary with the current version of Pip Schofield. It's almost making it entertaining. I especially liked the puppet saying that the Webb Ellis story is a lie.

| This is an interesting game? I know Inverdale is Mr Propaganda himself but this has been painful. 3 minutes to set a scrum .
God to see Dallaglio agreeing with me.

Has anyone explained the rules of Rugby to Inverdale? He does know that the idea is to attempt to score tries, doesn't he?

| Just watched the last 7 minutes on my laptop. It's bad, it's god-awful to watch. I look at Rugby League struggling to attract the cowds and then i see this garbage being watched by 60,000 lemmings. I'll never understand the mis-match in entertainment .v. crowd size so long as i live. It tells you something when the BBC show slow-motions of goal kicks. WTF?
