| Quote ="inside_man"Hayne hasn't been his blockbuster self but he still hasn't been average. Just the side around him isn't the best.
Point is that the NSW coach said they were two different styles of fb, Hayne acts as more of a playmaker and that wasn't the sort of player he wanted in the side so he went for Dugan.'"
The NSW side 'isn't the best' either.

I see your point and agree with regards to form, however I don't think he has been poor. Remember the Eels v bulldogs game a few weeks back? Only way they could stop him was by provoking him and getting him binned, changed the whole match.
Hayne is a match winner. Proven it on the big stage time and time again. Whatever it is, he has it.

I was actually at that match. He was sensational for the first 25 minutes, and, as you quite rightly pointed out, the Dogs got under his skin and he lashed out. However, he was virtually non-existent in that second half. Regardless of what I think, Stewart is going to stick with the same 13 if he gets his way.

Work related. Had to be in Canberra (which is a bit of a nothing place) so flew to Sydney and stayed there a few days.
Morris goofed for Yow Yew's try, but I would retain him. Hayne to take the utility spot on the bench and have Ennis playing the entire 80 at 9.

Fantastic. Love to visit aus.
I agree with the NSW selection. Haynes a game breaker, a match winner. Has to feature in some way or another.

I think Eddie and Stevo's heads would explode with Joel Tomkins at 3 and Joel Thompson at 4.
Lets do it

Don't be daft, we'd just have Joel Tomkinson in both centres.

Dugan is something else, he's an immense talent.
But Thompson stood out more IMO last season, he was just pure pace and power, shrugging off defenders for fun especially near the try line. He puts himself about too. Put a cheeky bid in for him please IL haha

| I wouldn't be signing a fullback with Matt Russell coming through the ranks, the most exciting British player for many years and only a matter of time before he comes through.

Totally agree. He had a great game yesterday, looks a real talent.
Anyone heard anything about us signing Darrell Griffin from Huddersfield? I hope so but got a feeling it might be BS!

| We were linked with Griffin a couple of years back and at the time I wasn't too fussed but he's really improved since IMO. I can't see any truth in it but he'd be a good replacement for Coley if he does hang up the boots.
As for Russell I've read a couple of people say that this lad is the real deal and will be something special. He is only young but if he came in and did a job he'd open up some cracking options for us with Sam being able to move back into the halfs. I've also read quite a few people singing Ryan Kings praises aswell.

I think the opposite, I think griffin was pretty good about 3yrs ago but now he's not the same player.

It may just be his England inclusion clouding my judgement. He's a good standard superleague prop though IMO and a good squad player.

| Do we really need Griffin? We will have Fielden, Lima, Mossop and Prescott as our 4 main props next year, who would we leave out for Griffin? With Crosby and Davies to cover injuries and Hock to play there if we are desperately unlucky with injuries. Not to mention players like Greg Burke etc in the reserves. I would rather give Eamon O'Carroll an extra year than sign Griffin. I know Eamons not had the best luck with injuries but if we can get it sorted and get him on a cheap contract next year he will be very useful.

He was terrible for england and looked way out of his depth but I agree, he'll still do a top job at club level.
Like I said, I think he's not as good as few years back but I'd still take him at saints if the contract was right.

Sniff of an England gig will get his agent to try and drive the cost up but he's not more than a decent SL prop. As you say, on the right contract I'd look at him but we've also some good stuff coming through our Alliance.

We don't seem to have any good young props looking near to breaking in to the first team so griffin would be good stop gap but I think he'll stay at hudds.
