You need to watch again if you think he was poor, he was hitting the line at good speed and then driving his legs and he was just his usual self in defence.

Good game from Amos Roberts tonight. He was safe as houses and made big metres with the ball.

disagree he missed a lot in defense and he always hits the line at speed he just doesnt have the weight to make inroads.

Spot on about Tommy. I do worry that we are never going to win anything with him at 7. We were 12 points in front and should have been looking to put the game to bed with a nice repeat set or at least trap them near their line, but instead his 'bomb' was diffused, Cas went up the other end and scored twice. He's a fanastic individual talent but not a scrum half that can take us to the next level. IMO Brough would be a man who can.

Thought Coley and Prescott went well too, they've been consistantly good for ages now.

I think those two are forming a great partnership at prop. They look like theyre willing to work for eachother while theyre both on the pitch.

Tommy was close but his kicking game let him down badly.

Thomas Leuluai - Yes his kicking game close to the line was poor but his two individual efforts with Sam Tomkins won us the match. He was a constant threat close to the line with ball in hand whether at seven or nine.

Andy Coley - Brilliant as usual. Constantly takes the ball up, makes the hard yards and gets us over the advantage line. I was wrong about Coley.


Mentions to Stuart Fielden and Mark Flanagan.

Martin Gleeson and Pat Richards had poor games.

Aye we've lacked a good play kicker since Smith got injured, if Leuluai, O'Loughlin and Tomkins were better kickers I'd be inclined to say we don't need a new halfback next season, but poor kicking can really bite you against the better teams in the big games.

Sam Tomkins general kick play is very good. After watching the game again on sky plus I don't recall a poor kick from him.

I thought we signed Riddell to help out with our kicking game? He has put the odd few kicks in to great affect. Not sure why he didn't last night. Michael McIlorum has also got a decent kicking game from the acting half.

One of Thomas Leuluai's great strengths was his kicking game close to the line. Not sure where that has gone. Maybe the switch from halfback to hooker during the match is affecting his game? Either way it is an area he needs to improve on and I hope with Michael McIlorum's return we will see a less disrupted side and a better kicking game.

Bit concerned about Gleeson (Not done it for me yet), and Feka (teams seem to be ready for him, and cut him down before he gets up a head of steam).

Roberts saved our s on a few occasions and makes good ground from the backline which set a good platform for the forwards and halves to work on. Coley has been our best forward all year for me and I'm chuffed we have him for another year. Don't need to say much about Sam, the next 5 years of watching him week in week out will be a good enough reason to keep on watching us even if we still don't win anything.
